Just Another Wednesday

Some days, I wake up beyond exhausted and feeling like I could sleep the day away.  Today is one of those days.  I don't though.  I just persevere, and, with lots of help from caffeine.  Yes, lots and lots of caffeine! I do have a slight Starbucks addiction.  They have delicious beverages and food, and their cd collection is spot on!  There is no beverage more refreshing on a hot day than an iced peach green tea lemonade. This morning, at the Starbucks drive thru, the woman in the car in front of me, paid for my drinks, so I paid for the car behind me.  I love when people are good to other people.  I was trying to explain what happened to Sydney, but she was so confused as to why I still got my drinks, even if the people in front of me paid for them, and maybe because I paid for the people behind me, I got their drinks.  I tried telling her that by me paying for the car behind me, maybe they paid for the car behind them, and maybe they...

Keeping Up While We Slow Down

Life is starting to slow down!!!  I never thought I would be saying that.  Now that dance is done until the summer camp in August and Ben's t-ball practices have decreased to once a week, we have a lot more free time.  Unfortunately though, the kids are feeling it too, and don't know what to do with their new found time and freedom, which means lots of acting out and fighting. Between the internet and my mommy/wife books, I'm working on some new discipline ideas. I've even learned, thanks to Jo Frost, Supernanny, that it's ok to put my 2 year old, who is determined to run away, on a leash.  I don't know that I will, but seriously, I always judged people with their kids on leashes until dealing with little miss runaway.  Rylie drives me absolutely bonkers when we are in public.  She runs away every opportunity she gets, everywhere we go.  She climbs out of the harness on the stroller, and I'm not talking just the lap belt, she wriggles free from yo...

Enjoying Every Day

It's rest time here in the Tiemann house.  I try to do rest time for the kids everyday.  The big kids can nap or just lay in their beds and watch tv or read.  Usually I catch them playing with toys, but as long as they are somewhat quiet I don't say anything.  I love my kids and love spending time with them, but it's nice to get that little break during the day, to blog, nap, paint my nails, or watch a show my kids can't or shouldn't watch.   Today, I'm watching Chicago Fire . My father-in-law got me addicted.  I like crime dramas and medical dramas.  This just so happens to be right in between the two.  So good and really good people in it.  Besides, what lady doesn't like a hot man in fireman gear.  Warning, it is a little gross... I'm also snuggling with my sweet kitty. ...and putting off putting away laundry. I've been admiring this beautiful flower my husband got me for our anniversary. He knows me so well...

Should Be Doing Housework...

But I'd rather blog.  To be fair I've done quite a bit today and now I'm thinking of recipes to post and updates on the stuff I've been up to, which isn't really anything other than what I'm usually doing... Here's what I have to look forward to when I'm done blogging.  Laundry... blech! Also, poor Mr. Unicorn is in need of Dr. Mom. I feel like I spend the majority of my time being Dr. Mom to my Destructo kid's toys.  Ben and Sydney watch this show called Doc McStuffin and she is able to fix all of these toys and somehow my kids think I'm able to do that.  Mr. Unicorns open belly is not a problem, but when pieces come off of Ben's Transformers and he thinks I can just glue them back on, I'm totally lost.  Some toys can be just glued back together but can Transformers? My blanket is coming along nicely and I'm almost done.  My kids have already voiced that they want their own so I went to Walmart and stocked up on beautifu...
