HOLY CANNOLI

I've been completely MIA from anything online that can't easily be done on my phone or iPad.  My blog and vlog need some lovin' and I'm hoping to get some editing done and line up a couple of blog posts as well.  Consider this me, dusting off my good ole blog and youtube account. I've been trying to upload my pictures from this summer onto my Facebook account all morning and for some reason they won't load.  Facebook is not liking me today and it's driving me bonkers.  I'll get it eventually but it's frustrating me that I spent all morning selecting them and then they don't load. Now, I need to figure out lunch for myself, Scottie, and Rylie. School is officially going now.  The big kids are in their full 2nd week of school.  Ben is in 2nd grade and Sydney is in Kindergarten.  Rylie starts preschool next week, and 2 mornings a week it will be just me and Scotland.  How crazy is that?!?! Even more crazy than the kids growing up so quickly...

What A Crazy Week We Are Having

This week has been insane!  Monday, I still didn't feel 100%.  Sydney has had this attitude that will not stop.  Neither Ben nor Sydney listen to a single thing I say.  (I know every mother or even parent reading this is nodding their heads in understanding.)  Shawn came home and all we could do was fight.  It was just one of those days.  When I say we just fought and fought, I mean, over stupid things like Ben's chapped lips.  Yes, ridiculous fights you only have when you are tired and not feeling well.  I was mentally and physically exhausted and unwell.  I just couldn't stop crying and instead of going to bed, like I should have, I stayed up and continued to fight with everyone. The day wasn't all downs though.  We did read a few stories about the meaning of this week and Easter from the Catholic Bible stories for kids.  They really liked it, but it made Sydney, much like it makes me, very emotional.  After we were do...

Holy Snow Days Batman!

So, apparently there is (as of yesterday at least) snow in 49 of the 50 states in the US.  We have a few inches here, and now, it's super cold as well.  I'm not talking a little chilly or like cold enough to snow.  I'm talking last night, we got down to -12 degrees.  That, by my definition, is COLD! I do not drive in snow.  I hate it and while I could, it makes me too nervous, so I choose not to.  Because of all the snow, we've been stuck at home, unless Shawn is going to drive us somewhere.  The kids, and Ben specifically, are starting to get stir crazy.  The night we got the majority of the snow, Shawn and I took the kids to Walmart and we bought one of Ben's favorite movies and the Thomas the train set he wanted for Christmas, but we didn't buy because it didn't seem to be worth $50.  It was on clearance so I promise we didn't pay even close to $50.  The movie has been watched several times and Thomas is probably a favorite toy of...

What a crazy, wonderful, life we live

I can't believe how hectic things are here.  I'm really enjoying it all though, and I must say that I have the two most precious children in the whole world and they keep me well entertained. This week the weather was so hot that I cut out park trips all but two days.  Between the air conditioner being out on the car and the heat both inside and out of the car, it was just too uncomfortable and probably not very safe either. Tuesday, Shawn mowed the lawn at our old house.  I can't even begin to tell you how tall the grass was there.  It hadn't been mowed since we moved out.  Our mower was trying to cause trouble as well. Wednesday, we had our biweekly dinner with our friends Tim and Rebekah, but this time we did it at our house.  I made the tortellini salad since Shawn was so eager to show it off to people.  It was really good (not to toot my own horn or anything)!  Also, on Wednesday, my bes...

Getting ready for St. Patrick's day

This evening we went to Walmart to search for St. Patrick's day clothing for the kiddos and I was completely disappointed in their lack of options.  By options, I mean that I saw t-shirts for boys to big for Ben and nothing for anyone smaller than those shirts, boy or girl.  It was pathetic.  We ended up just getting Ben a green and blue, soccer, jogging suit and Sydney a green and white pair of pants to go with a green and white onsie she already has. I was also looking for paper and pom poms for our craft tomorrow.  I couldn't find the large sized pom poms that included purple or paper for watercolors.  I guess we'll have to do with out the purple pom poms and using regular paper for painting tomorrow.  We have yet to paint.  I think the project I'm going to attempt tomorrow with Ben may be a little bit over his head but that's ok.  I may end up painting for the project and letting him just paint on his own... whatever he wants.  It doesn...

That burst of energy I've been looking for.

I'm not overrun with energy, but I'm much better today than I have been.  Last night, Ben was asleep by 12:30.  I know that is still late, but it would have been earlier if dinner didn't take so long.  We didn't get eating until after 11 which caused everything else to run late as well.  Ben slept until 11:30ish this morning so I've decided that he doesn't get a nap this afternoon.  We are really trying to work on his sleep schedule. Today, while he did his coloring sheet, I cut out the letters A-E from those foam sheets we have. Here's Ben doing his coloring sheet for the day: Now he can play with them and not have to worry about ripping them.  Every week, I'll make the new letter for him as well. He's such a silly goober today.  He wanted his picture taken with each letter, but when I got out the camera, it was all business to him.  He wouldn't smile for the pictures. ...

Going to try to turn this day around.

Ben woke up early this morning after a late night and I am completely exhausted.  So much for trying to get some rest.  I might have forgotten to mention last week that my doctor is a little worried about preeclampsia.  So far I think I'm ok and seeing as how I'm 36 weeks a long today, I'm not too worried. I am quite a grump today though.  After the being up late and then getting up early nonsense.  I know that I'm going to be really tired for quite a bit here when the baby gets here.  That's the one part I'm not looking forward to.  I feel like nothing seems to be going right today. I need to turn this day around and get out of the grump.  After lunch, Ben and I are going to do his D is for dinosaur craft.  I'm going to try to work on my calendar for the month of March today as well.  Since the baby will be here, I'm scared of what that is going to do to Ben's craft time.  While it's fun, it is a lot of work for me.  I thi...

Busy Busy Busy

This week has been really busy between all of our errands and our crazy work schedules.  I think our letter of the week will be postponed this week since we have yet to even start learning the letter B and it's already Wednesday.  We've started a new schedule in the house, where we get more done during the week so the weekend is more relaxing.  Obviously the work schedules are staying the same.  Shawn still works from 8ish to 5 and I still work from 5 to 9 unless Shawn gets off of work early for some reason or if he has to work late his mom is sometimes able to come out in the afternoon and watch Ben so I can go to work early and be done.  It's nice when she does this because Ben loves his Granny time and I like to be done with work early. Because I work so late, it's often easier just to pick up food on the way home from work, but with Ben's peanut allergy, it really limits us to where we can go.  This gets expensive quick, it's not real healthy, and we ...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  Sorry, I seem to be running a little late on that.  We brought in the new year at a friend's house.  Ben didn't make it until midnight, which really surprised me since he's sort of a night owl and had a nap in the evening.  He only missed it by about 20 minutes. This year, I've decided my resolution is to organize myself and my home, and declutter my life.  It's insane how much junk I have collected.  I've started keeping 2 planners.  One is for work and one is for home.  I need to keep those two parts of my life separate to keep the stress down in my life anyway.  I'm also making a calendar for our crafts and lessons for the week, as well as planning menus for the week for our family dinners.  I think this should hopefully keep things less stressful once the baby gets here also.  We scheduled the C-section for March 9th.  I'm so excited.  That means 9 weeks and 1 day from today, our new baby will be h...
