Moving Over The 4th of July

Oh boy, this past week has been a whirlwind.  I feel like I'm just now starting to catch my breath. Thursday evening we got our keys to our new house.  We were excited and started moving some already packed boxes and bags. Cleaning out packed boxes makes plenty more room for more boxes.  Lots and lots of packing has been going on. Friday was Independence Day.  Good ole 4th of July.  We all got decked out in our red, white, blue, and headed out for a nice fun day. We stopped at my in-laws to pick up Kelly, my sister-in-law and head out to our good friend Buck's house. At Buck's house, we had good food, good company, and fun setting off fireworks. One of my old friend's parents were there also, and the Dad played the guitar and sang for the girls while they danced. After a few hours, it was time for us to go.  Off we went to our friend Terry's house, where the rest of my in-laws were.  Even Shawn's Aunt Karen and Uncle Iggi...

This Summer Is Flying By

Is it really true?  I haven't blogged since last month?  That's insane!  Well, I'm going to do my best to catch up on everything fun we've been doing since last time. This summer I seem to have gotten a strange reaction to the heat.  I find myself sick to my stomach almost every afternoon and evening.  I think it's because the AC on our home does not keep up at all and the house is usually at 80 ish degrees.  I know, that doesn't seem like a lot to some people, but in this house, to me, that's hot.  It's so hot that this stay at home chef doesn't want to cook anything for fear of making the house even hotter.  I'm dying for some delicious homemade moist bread or lemon blueberry muffins, but I don't want to turn the oven on. We've been spending a lot of time at my mother and father-in-law's home, and swimming in their pool.  One day, it was so hot even in the pool that they bought almost 40 10lb blocks of ice and put them in the poo...

Whew I've gotten behind.

But in my defense, a lot has happened in this past week.  I'm going to let you in on all of that now. Here was our schedule for last week: We have been spending so much time together as a family lately and I love it. Tuesday, we got our very first delivery from  Door To Door Organics .  I was so excited that I waited around for it and it didn't come and didn't come and didn't come.  I gave up and decided to take the kids to the park.  We were at the park for an hour and a half and then went to pick Shawn up from work.  When we came home, we had a huge box by the front door.  Before the delivery, our fridge was empty since it was time to go grocery shopping.  After the delivery, I was searching for places to put food. This was everything we received: This is our fridge after the delivery: Thursday, was our grocery day.  I clip coupons and look for de...
