Attempting to be a Super Mom

First, I need someone, anyone to lie and tell me this is as crazy as life gets.  I'm exhausted and it's only noon on Saturday.  Ben and Sydney are one of Ben's friend's birthday parties down the street. Rylie is asleep on the couch and Scotland is sitting in her bouncy chair happy as clam. (That's how the saying goes, right?)  Scottie and I are sitting outside on the front patio, relaxing. This morning we have already had soccer camp for Ben. Sydney's soccer camp. And Ben's t-ball game. And after this birthday party is over we have to run out and get another gift bag for the next birthday party Ben's going to attend in a couple of hours. Last night, we had Sydney's dress rehearsal for her dance recital that is tomorrow afternoon. Shawn and Sydney are in the Daddy Daughter Dance together, as is Shawn's brother and his daughter Langston.  It's so cute for them to do that dance ...

I hate his traveling.  I really really do!  He had to leave on Father's Day and he won't be back until Tuesday. We just got him back and he was here for two days before leaving again. Anyway, moving on to happier things.  Last night, we decided to celebrate Father's Day at the lake with a little cook out and some fishing.  Shawn's parent's and siblings unfortunately couldn't make it, but we were there as well as Terry, Torren, and our friend Buck. Nobody caught anything but everyone had fun trying. Yes, we made the kids wear life jackets because the water there was really deep and I'm a huge worrier.  It's just better safe than sorry in my eyes. And of course I nursed Rylie in style. We grilled some chicken thighs and veggies, while Shawn, Torren, and Buck went into town and brought back pizza and chips. Hope all the Dads out there had a great Father's Day. Ben and I enjoyed time with Shawn and family. Saturday we went to the company picnic for a little bit but it was raining pretty good and they were taking down the tables and whatnot so we left quickly. We decided to go to Topeka to take a card to my Dad. For those of you who don't know, he died last year and part of his ashes are in a wall in a cemetery in Topeka. We also picked up a card for Grandpa and dropped it by his house. When we got there, my aunt, uncle and two cousins were there. We all went out to dinner and to the cemetery and just talked. It was so nice to see them. My cousins are growing up so quickly. When I hugged my uncle goodbye, I didn't want to let go. It was just so nice to see them all again. I've really missed them.
