Moving Over The 4th of July

Oh boy, this past week has been a whirlwind.  I feel like I'm just now starting to catch my breath. Thursday evening we got our keys to our new house.  We were excited and started moving some already packed boxes and bags.

Cleaning out packed boxes makes plenty more room for more boxes.  Lots and lots of packing has been going on.

Friday was Independence Day.  Good ole 4th of July.  We all got decked out in our red, white, blue, and headed out for a nice fun day.

We stopped at my in-laws to pick up Kelly, my sister-in-law and head out to our good friend Buck's house.

At Buck's house, we had good food, good company, and fun setting off fireworks.

One of my old friend's parents were there also, and the Dad played the guitar and sang for the girls while they danced.

After a few hours, it was time for us to go.  Off we went to our friend Terry's house, where the rest of my in-laws were.  Even Shawn's Aunt Karen and Uncle Iggie from Nebraska were there.  We had more good food, more good company, and more firework fun.  I'm not big into setting off fireworks, but I like to see the enjoyment the kids get out of them, and I do enjoy watching fireworks in general. As long as nobody gets hurt.

After we were done shooting off our fireworks, we went down to watch the firework show by the T-Bones.

We got back home fairly early and Shawn got back to moving stuff.  I feel guilty because I went to bed instead. We've had so many late nights and and I'm up early-ish with the kids when they get up so I was just worn out.

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with the exception of Ben's t-ball game on Saturday, was all about moving, unpacking, and cleaning.

We're finally out of the old house, but are still unpacking and working on the new one.  I can't wait to be done, to have all of my stuff where it belongs and have all of my pictures hanging on the walls again.

Hi Liz!
Hope this past week finds you more settled in the new house and enjoying the extra room! Moving, in and of itself, sucks, but I always enjoy finding new ways to use my old decorations and pictures, I also like seeing my furniture in different places, which is probably why after 12 years in our home I am still rearranging the furniture in the living room and kitchen a couple of times a year - lol.
Fingers crossed that the next move is your last into your forever home :)
I hope you have a great week ahead, I am into week 2 of our short summer school program at work, and the weather for the upcoming week looks unsettled, so I won't mind working too much ;)
Take some time to soak up the sun and enjoy those babies.
Take care & God Bless
Mindy

I would say I understand, but you know I do, having JUST been through this and in a way, still unpacking at the new house LOL

It's all fun and games until you start moving boxes, then it seems like it's never ending.

Glad you're moved in :)

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. On the menu for ...

Blogmas 2014 - Day 13 How Are You Counting Down To Christmas

Ok, honestly....  I'm not.  I have this gorgeous advent calendar that is 3 building with little numbered doors all over them.  I haven't gotten it out for lack of space and really small children.  Maybe next year.  Also, Ben has been all over the lego ones and stuff so I figure, I'll pick up some next year or as I see them now this year, so each kid can have their own next year.  I don't know maybe I'll just make them if I'm feeling crafty and find the time.  It actually hit us all at once on Saturday that Christmas was less than 2 weeks away.
