Going to try to turn this day around.

Ben woke up early this morning after a late night and I am completely exhausted.  So much for trying to get some rest.  I might have forgotten to mention last week that my doctor is a little worried about preeclampsia.  So far I think I'm ok and seeing as how I'm 36 weeks a long today, I'm not too worried. I am quite a grump today though.  After the being up late and then getting up early nonsense.  I know that I'm going to be really tired for quite a bit here when the baby gets here.  That's the one part I'm not looking forward to.  I feel like nothing seems to be going right today. I need to turn this day around and get out of the grump.  After lunch, Ben and I are going to do his D is for dinosaur craft.  I'm going to try to work on my calendar for the month of March today as well.  Since the baby will be here, I'm scared of what that is going to do to Ben's craft time.  While it's fun, it is a lot of work for me.  I thi...

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful day.  We took it easy around the house and tried to get caught up on laundry since I was a serious slacker last week as far as housework goes.  My mother and father in law came out to see us for a little bit which proved to be a bigger task than any of us were expecting.  The weather caused a huge 30-40 car pile up on I-70 and caused their trip here to be almost 3 times as long as normal. Ben and I finished our valentines this morning.  It took me 3 days (a couple of hours everyday) to finish mine and it took Ben 2 days (a couple of hours a day) to finish his.  It was fun though and I'm really proud of how they turned out.  Here are the ones I made for Shawn and Ben.  I'll post pictures of the rest, after we give the rest of them to family on Tuesday. This was Shawn's.  It had a little letter to him on the back. This is the one I made for Ben. ...

The letter C

This week we learned the letter C.  I've been to busy to post the craft until today and for that I'm sorry.  This is another one that I got from No Time For Flash Cards .  By the way, if you haven't stopped by that blog, you should.  There is a lot of really fun stuff on there. C is for Caterpillar What you will need: markers construction paper glue scissors googly eyes a pipe cleaner pom poms I apologize for the rotation on the picture.  I can't get it to rotate. 1.  Draw a large C on the construction paper. 2. Color the C. 3.  Once the C is colored, cut it out. 4.  Cut 2 little holes at the top of the C and put the pipe cleaner through to make antennas. 5.  Glue on the googly eyes. 6.  Glue on the pom poms or whatever you wanted to decorate it with. ...

Absolute craziness...

There is definitely no time for breaks in our crazy lives right now.  Time is moving so fast.  Sydney will be here in 4 weeks and our lives are already hectic.  I keep thinking, surely it's going to slow down, but it doesn't.  Shawn had a conference out of town for work last week from Wednesday morning through Friday night.  There are lots of possibilities for more of these coming up for him also.  That is both exciting and sad.  I'm so happy for these opportunities for him but at the same time, while he's away from us, we miss him like crazy and when Sydney is born it will be even more difficult to be apart from him.  Luckily though we have a great family and support system to help us out and keep us company. This weekend was the super bowl.  We had a little party of our own.  Shawn's parent's came out and so did my Aunt Leslie, Uncle Chris, and their boys, Dylan and Hayden.  The boys are growing up so fast!  I'm constantly ...

34 weeks

I'm at 34 weeks now and wow I'm huge.  Five weeks from today our new little baby will be here.  We are all so excited.  I haven't posted belly pics in a while though so I thought it was past time. Shawn took the picture while I was trying to fix my pants.  It shows the belly really well though.

The letter B

This week we are learning the letter B.  I got this really cute idea from another blog No time for flashcards .  We followed it pretty closely.   B is for Bumble Bee What you will need: markers glue yellow and black paper scissors googly eyes 1.  Draw a giant B on your yellow paper. 2.  Cut out the letter. 3.  Let your little one color the B.  We used markers for this particular project. 4.  While your little one is coloring away, cut wings, stripes and antennas from the black paper. 5.  When your little one is done coloring, cut the inside pieces out of the B. 6.  Glue your wings and antennas to the back of the B. 7.  Glue the stripes onto the B. 8.  Glue on your googly eyes. And then you're done. ...

Another busy weekend.

I'm beginning to think that my weekends from here on out will be busy, busy, busy.  This last weekend was no exception to that. Friday night, we went to CiCi's pizza.  It's one of the few places we can go with Ben's allergy.  Ben has really come out of his shy little shell and was performing for the kitchen staff and giving high fives to some Fort Scott Community College athletes that were eating just a few tables away.  It was really cute.  Then, we went grocery shopping at Walmart.  We had to give in and buy Cars.  We have a copy somewhere in a box or bag in the garage, but haven't been able to find it.  We have been renting it from Blockbuster but it's getting very expensive.  Also, when we go to Walmart and Ben is a good boy, we allow him to have a car.  Sometimes it's a hot wheels or matchbox car, but lately it's been the Cars characters with the hologram eyes that cost about $3.  We do this for him, even though we probably ...
