Still Exhausted

Today doesn't seem to feel much differently to me. I'm still chugging along in a haze, completely exhausted and dying for bedtime.  I picked the kids up from marathon club and Ben was his normal sweet self but Sydney greeted me with attitude. Why did nobody tell me that little girls are mini teenagers?  Also, yesterday after watching soccer practice and talking to the coach yesterday, I've found my son isn't the only one having issues at school with behavior. That was a little refreshing. Ben told me he was better today and didn't get into trouble.  That makes me feel better, although I'm not 100% sure he'd tell me if he did get in trouble. As I type, Ben is doing his spelling homework.  He finished his homework grid for September last night around 9 o'clock and today he came home with his October grid.  I took a picture of the homework grid this time, so he can work on it on the weekends as well. Sydney is working on writing the letter p at the kitc...

Just Another Day

Oh goodness, today is one of those days.  We got the kids to bed, or at least the older two, at a decent hour last night, but today I'm so exhausted.  I feel that if I close my eyes to blink, I may not open them until I'm done snoring from a nap. I didn't want to get up at all this morning either.  I usually get up and wake the kids, then get ready for the day.  This morning when I got out of bed, I woke up Sydney, and then climbed back into bed. Ben was already up, as I caught him trying to sneak his iPad 30 minutes before time to get up.  iPads are not allowed before school in our home, unless you are completely 100% ready to go to school.  You must be fully dressed including shoes, fed, hair combed, teeth brushed, face washed, and back pack packed before an iPad is even considered. Obviously I told him no, and even tried sending him back to bed, which didn't work. Ben had a rough morning.  He cried when I gave him breakfast bars for breakfast in...

Happy Homemaker Monday

Good Morning!  I was NOT ready for the alarm this morning and snoozed it for another 15 minutes or so. I wasn't really ready for my weekend to be over either... On the weather front: The weather cooled down this weekend to really feel like fall.  Highs in the 70s!  It's so wonderful. On my bedside table: A water bottle, a box of tissues, a baby bottle, my TV and cable remotes, and a book or two. On my TV: I've been binge watching Gossip Girl around my shows from my DVR.  Right now I'm watching Don't Be Tardy, then I have the Manzos and tonight, as a family, we have to watch Doctor Who from this weekend. Favorite Youtube Video last week: I didn't really get a lot of videos in last week.  I was so busy, but there are a few I never miss.  I always watch everything from Claire at The Witt Family, and Rebecca from Percy and Grace.   News story that caught my attention: I can't seem to get passed this story of this poor child that made a clock and t...

HOLY CANNOLI

I've been completely MIA from anything online that can't easily be done on my phone or iPad.  My blog and vlog need some lovin' and I'm hoping to get some editing done and line up a couple of blog posts as well.  Consider this me, dusting off my good ole blog and youtube account. I've been trying to upload my pictures from this summer onto my Facebook account all morning and for some reason they won't load.  Facebook is not liking me today and it's driving me bonkers.  I'll get it eventually but it's frustrating me that I spent all morning selecting them and then they don't load. Now, I need to figure out lunch for myself, Scottie, and Rylie. School is officially going now.  The big kids are in their full 2nd week of school.  Ben is in 2nd grade and Sydney is in Kindergarten.  Rylie starts preschool next week, and 2 mornings a week it will be just me and Scotland.  How crazy is that?!?! Even more crazy than the kids growing up so quickly...

Happy Homemaker Monday

Good morning!  It is a beautiful Monday here.  We are back from vacation, refreshed, and ready to go on with our normal lives.  I'm so glad to be back here on my blog that I love so much. On the weather front: It's not near as bad here as Eureka Springs was this last week and weekend.  We got to 103 one day. On my bedside table: Game of Thrones (still only on the first book but life has been so insane that by the time I sit down to read, it's late at night and I fall asleep reading) On my TV: I'm not even sure at the moment.  I've got tons on my DVR On the menu for tonight: Frozen Pizzas On the menu for this week: Monday  - Frozen Pizza Tuesday  - Nachos Wednesday  -  Thursday  - Chicken curry with basmati Friday  -  Saturday  -  Sunday  -  On my To Do List: Laundry Mopping and Vacuuming Editting videos Sorting pictures for blog posts New Recipe I tried last week: I tried no new recipes ...

Exhausted But Here

I'm here I'm here I'm here!  I didn't forget you I promise!  Honestly, life has been even more crazy than usual lately.  It's summer which means that our usual routine has flown out the window.  Our kids at school so I can get stuff done isn't happening, so I spend my days cleaning up messes that my cute little monsters continue to make, washing lots and lots of laundry, doing lots of fun activities, and sleeping very little. In the last few weeks, we've finished dance, started baseball and soccer, done lots of swimming, and gone on a little holiday/vacation while Shawn worked out of town in Omaha, Nebraska.  I haven't even uploaded my pictures to Facebook yet from this crazy past couple weeks.  Maybe I'll do that and work on a real blogpost tomorrow. In the meantime, if you're interested, I've also decided that maybe vlogging would be fun.  It's quite intimidating, but I like the thought of these videos of our fun stuff being around fo...

The Saddest Anniversary - My Dad's Death

Friday marks 7 years since the loss of my Dad.  I wish I could say that this time of year gets easier as time goes on, but it really doesn't.  I push my feelings down deep inside and busy myself with house work or kids activities.  I'm not really dealing with it, but this is the only way I know how.  Growing up, we were raised to not really talk about our problems.  Just sweep them under the rug and pretend they aren't there.  This doesn't work too well for me, as I'm quite emotional and not so good at ignoring the problem.  If I'm mad and ignoring a problem, it comes out in a very angry burst eventually, if I'm sad it comes out in several blubbering tear filled moments. With this grief, it comes in waves of panic attacks.  I really probably should have Xanax for days like these.  There will be moments, or even hours at a time, that I'm pretty sure I'm having a heart attack.  There is no warning, it just hits and stays awhile.  S...
