Crazy crazy stuff

I don't get to blog a lot lately.  It's kind of sad, but I honestly had no idea it has been about 2 weeks since my last update.  Time is still just flying by, and I feel like we are barely hanging on by the seat of our pants.

Halloween is creeping up on us an we are trying to enjoy as much Halloween stuff as we can.  Last week we baked sugar cookies and made foam cut outs of fun Halloween inspired shapes to put on the wall.  This week I'm hoping to do some more crafts, and to make fun rice krispie treats.

We started really trying to potty train Ben.  It's been a crazy and rough experience.  Ben isn't so sure he wants to go to the big boy potty most of the time.  He does like to go sit there and read his book about the potty and sometimes he'll go.  It's just not working out as I had hoped it would.

Sydney has become extremely mobile.  I now have two children that are going in opposite directions 99% of the time.  She likes her exer-saucer a ton too.  That's been her latest toy.

We went to KU's campus to try and get pictures of the beautiful trees changing colors.  The trees everywhere are so beautiful, but on this particular part of campus, most of them are still green.  It worked to our benefit though, because it was too dark at the time to get a really good picture.  We're going back next Sunday to try again.  I did get some really cute ones of the kids and we had a great time walking around.

Friday, we went to the pumpkin patch.  We had such a good time!  Ben picked out a good pumpkin and we got to do the hayride, see lots of animals, go through a corn maze, go through a "spooky house" and take lots of pictures.  The place we go is absolutely gorgeous.

Saturday night, we went to a Halloween party.  Ben's Halloween costume is Spiderman and Sydney's is a lady bug.  Shawn's costume was a little obscene since he went as Brett Favre.  Not everyone understood this, but some did, and the ones that didn't were told who he was being and they understood then.  I went as a witch.  We had such a good time.

Sunday we went to visit my family.  We had such a good time and some really good food.

Alright, I have to get up and work on some macaroni and cheese for lunch.  Ben is begging for it as he does for lunch every day.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
