Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather::: Today it was almost 60 degrees and the rest of the week is to be in the 60s Right now I am:  Sitting on the couch watching Hocus Pocus with all three of the kiddos while we wait for dinner to get here. Thinking: How tired I am.  I just need sleep.  I got a decent night last night, but for some reason I'm more tired today than normal. On my reading pile::: One for the money by Janet Evanovich On my tv::: Hocus  Pocus On the menu for this week::: Monday  - Jason's Deli Tuesday  - Pizza Wednesday  - Chili Thursday  - Friday  -  Saturday  -  Sunday  -  On my to do list::: Finish folding laundry and put away laundry Dishes What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating::: Finishing the banner for the fireplace hopefully this week. Homemaking Tips::: I don't have one, yet again. Looking around the house::: Nothing exciting is going on.  Most of the house ...

An End To A Lazy Day

First of all, I'm going to apologize that this post and the next one or two will be all over the place.  I'm so scattered and tired but have so much I've been meaning to say over the past month or two that I feel the need to post at least a couple of pictures and stories from all the big things we've done around here. Ok, so earlier today, I posted that I was in a funk.  Well, I never really snapped out of it.  I even ordered Pizza Hut for dinner.  I've decided that we are all entitled to be lazy and have our off days.  Tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully, it will be better.  It has to be, because I can't take the house looking like this any longer.  Tomorrow promises to be a busy day, which I don't know if I'm excited about.  I mean I love that Ben goes to preschool and has a good time and I love my RCIA classes, but I have so much stuff to do and not so much time to do it.  I have errands to run, and at this moment, I can't even concentr...

In a Funk

I have been in a little bit of a funk lately, but only when it comes to house work.  Now, we aren't living in absolute filth, I just have a couple baskets of laundry that desperately need to be folded and I did dishes right before dinner last night but haven't done them since.  I suppose I should, but I'd rather blog about how lazy I feel.  I know we all have those days, but this has been going on for about three days now.  I need to snap out of it, because I feel like the mess is stressing me out more. Does this happen to anyone else? I guess I'd just rather lay around and watch tv and snuggle with my kids. I need a maid for weeks like this.  Haha!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Oh my goodness!  It's Monday morning and I'm here, doing my Happy Homemaker Monday post.  I haven't been able to do it lately.  Maybe this is a sign of things slowing down. The Weather::: We're warming back up into the 80s but it's supposed to be cooler by the end of the week. Right now I am:  Wearing my pjs and listening to Rylie just talk and talk and talk. Thinking: I have so much housework to do.  Mondays are always the worst because, usually, we have been gone all weekend and haven't had time to do any house upkeep. On my reading pile::: I seem to have put all my reading aside except for the Bible.  I have plenty of reading to do there, but this week I'm hoping to read some more Grimm fairy tales and actually get into One for the Money by Janet Evanovich On my tv::: I'm not really sure.  Maybe a movie or a good British series On the menu for this week::: Monday  - Bacon Spaghetti Tuesday  - Cheesy Chicken Soup ...

Sometimes Original Plans Don't Matter

Well, this weekend didn't turn out quite how we had hoped it would.  I can't say that it was worse, but we just didn't get to do everything we'd hoped.  Isn't that how life works? Friday, we surprised Shawn at the airport.  His plane was early and we were heading down the terminal for his gate when Shawn, who was heading for the baggage claim, heard Ben and turned around.  We were all so glad to see him and he was so ready to see us and just be home. This has been a very rough couple of weeks for us.  Shawn has been gone now, for two weeks and home on the weekends.  He leaves tomorrow and will be gone the whole week again.  To many people, this isn't anything out of the norm, especially since I'm friends with many military wives.  Truth be told, I feel silly complaining about him being gone when I think of my best friend, who's husband is gone quite a bit and she's been through a couple deployments with him as well.  I know she would n...

Sick Kids and Fall Time

Just when I thought I'd have an opportunity to blog, a million other things came up. I decided that it was definitely fall, which meant it was time to decorate for Halloween. We haven't gone to the pumpkin patch yet and aren't totally done with our decorations, but here is what I have out, outside, at this moment. Yesterday, the girls and I were out running errands while Ben was at school.  We took a break in between the errands and picking up Ben to play at the park briefly. Everything is so gorgeous outside.  Seriously, this is my favorite time of year. Sydney's "baby" got to experience the entire park with her.  She wouldn't leave her in the car. I think the girls had a really good time, and of course, Sydney cried when it was time to leave. We picked Ben up from school and he was not doing well.  He spent most of the afternoon and evening like this... I called the doctor and they squeezed us in during the aftern...

MIA

Sorry, I seem to have MIA for awhile from a lot of parts of my life.  There has been a lot going on in our crazy house, and between Shawn's work travel and many other somewhat personal things, I've been on the verge of a nervous breakdown.  Monday I shut down and had an extreme lazy day where pretty much nothing was done and the kids and I watched movies and relaxed.  Yesterday, after Ben got out of school, we went to Kansas City to celebrate my mother-in-law Julie's birthday.  Today, my house is a wreck but I'm feeling much better.  Just dug out some more yarn from my collection in the garage and a bunch of Halloween decorations.  Now I have some major house work to do and some dinner to figure out.  I'm just winging it with the menu this week...  I'll be back later for an update or two.  Maybe I'll even blog tonight.
