Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
It was in the 50s this morning and it dropped.  It's 36 degrees now.

Right now I am:

Snuggling on the couch with my napping Sydney while Ben and Rylie play on the floor.

Thinking:

How I don't even want to get off of the couch.  I'm having a rough day.

On my reading pile:::
Still trying to read The Widow of Larkspur Inn, when I get the chance, and Little House in the Big Woods.

On my tv:::
Been watching Pride and Prejudice for the bizillionth time.
Maybe watching some Chicago Fire or Downton Abbey with the husband tonight.

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
It's not a specific post, but I fell in love with a new craft blog.  The Purl Bee

Something fun to share:::
I found this awesome new blog.  It's in german, but google does a wonderful job of translating it for me.  Town Country Home  I'm in love with all the beautiful pictures.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Same things I've been working on.  Specifically my hexagon blanket.

Homemaking Tips:::
Fresh flowers!  I love flowers.  I love the bright colors and their beautiful smell.  They make me happy.  I took my 2 year old daughter to the grocery store with me to pick some flowers and she found a pot of hyacinth that were gorgeous!  They look amazing on my mantle.  We also picked up some tulips and a pot of mint.  I'm so happy and ready to fill my house with plants and flowers, inside and outside.

Looking around the house:::
The washer and dryer are loudly going and the kids are screaming.  The house isn't too big of a mess, but I'll definitely have some picking up to do this evening.

From the camera:::
I'm so in love with my new tattoo.  My dad died about 4 1/2 years ago and it was so nice to memorialize him with his handwriting on my wrist.  Also, what a great bonding thing for my sister and I to do.  She got one also.

On my prayer list:::
Myself!  I stupidly put off picking up my antidepressant for 3 or 4 days and have been suffering awful withdrawls even though I started taking it again yesterday.  Lesson learned, now to get through this rough patch.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Be brave and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the Lord, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you. ~ Deuteronomy 31:6

Beautiful tattoo, how sweet :)

Sorry about your pills, but glad you picked them back up and are on the right track again.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful week.

It's amazing to me that on the day my wife does not want to get up off the couch, she does the freaking laundry and cleans the entire house. If today is a lazy day, I'd hate to see a productive day here.

You're amazing, honey.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
