Happy Homemaker Monday

Well, I missed last week, but I am back now!!!!

The Weather:::
Today is supposed to be about 45 degrees today, and 30s and 40s all week long.

Right now I am:
Taking a quick break before fixing lunch, sitting on our comfy couch.

Thinking:
I have so much to do today to get this house back in order.

On my reading pile:::
The Widow of Larkspur Inn by Lawanna Blackwell, and Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder

On my tv:::
I really need to get all caught up on Downton Abbey.

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
The Nerd Nest - My Funny Valentine As I read this, I laughed my hiney off!

Something fun to share:::
Rylie turned one last week and we threw her a big birthday party on Saturday with the whole family.  Instead of the stress from making my own cake for the party.  We went out to eat and ordered a cake from a friend.  She did an amazing job.  It tasted delicious and looked wonderful!

On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Tacos
Tuesday - Sweet and sour pork with broccoli, pineapple, and rice
Wednesday - Lemon chicken with oregano green beans, scalloped potatoes, and brussels sprouts
Thursday -  Chili
Friday - Butternut squash ravioli with marinara, and salad
Saturday - KC
Sunday - KC

On my to do list:::

Laundry, lots and lots of laundry
Sweep the kitchen
Dust
Clean the glass

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Some crochet pot holders and an embroidered wall hanging.

Homemaking Tips:::
I don't really have anything at this moment.

Looking around the house:::
Rylie is sleeping soundly in her playpen, Ben and Sydney are cleaning their playroom.  The dishwasher is running and there are baskets of laundry in the hallway waiting for me to wash, or fold and put away.  The oven is preheating so I can reheat some leftover pizza.  I'm trying to use my microwave less and less.

From the camera:::

Our first Ash Wednesday.

On my prayer list:::
Nobody specific, just those that need it.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. ~ Mark 11:23

Happy Homemaker Monday

   As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
