Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
It's cold and we still have snow all over the ground from last week, and tonight through Wednesday we are supposed to get more.  I'm actually kind of excited!

Right now I am:
Sitting on the couch, snuggling Sydney and sniffling away.

Thinking:
About how much I need to do today, but would much rather get some rest.

On my reading pile:::
The Widow of Larkspur Inn by Lawanna Blackwell, and Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder  We've not been real good about reading lately.  Not the big books anyway.

On my tv:::
Ripper Street
Tonight is also the new Bones and Monday Mornings

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
I'm not sure.  I haven't had a lot of opportunity for blog reading.

Something fun to share:::
Yesterday I got to meet the Archbishop.  Just a really great experience.

On the menu for this week:::
This week may be a bit tricky as I have groceries to get us to, possibly through Wednesday night.
Monday - Tangy BBQ chicken, scalloped potatoes, "fried corn", zucchini casserole
Tuesday - Hamburger steak with sweet onions and brown gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies
Wednesday - Pizza/or Chicken burgers
Thursday -
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::

Laundry
Sweep the kitchen floor
Lots of picking up

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Getting ready to do a little embroidery.

Homemaking Tips:::
I don't have anything this week

Looking around the house:::
I can hear the tv in the kids room and in the living room.  Rylie is sitting next to me eating crackers and the big kids are watching Phineas and Ferb in their beds.  There are blankets and books on the living room and laundry piled up in the hallway to be washed.

From the camera:::

On my prayer list:::
My mother-in-law who isn't feeling well and also everyone who has to travel or work in the snow that will be hitting us soon.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. ~ Luke 6:36

I love your picture. I've never been in snow. Whenever I see a picture of snow I just want to go and see what it's like.

Aww! When it snows here, we get a lot of people that complain but for my family, we love it. My husband is able to work from home, they call off school, so my son doesn't need to go, and I'm a stay at home mom, so I don't have a job to go to outside of the home. We can just sit inside and enjoy except when we are able to go outside and play in it.

Great picture, I didn't know you had bangs, they look adorable :)

Hope the sniffling goes away and no one is sick at your house.

Have a great week Liz :)

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
