Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

I missed last week due to technical difficulties, but I'm back this week!  Hope every one had a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day.

The weather.....
Getting warmer again.

Right now I am....
Sitting on the couch, watching Will and Grace with the girls, while Ben watches videos on his iPad.

Thinking....
I am just exhausted today.  This weekend was so much fun, but it was gone too fast!

On my reading pile....
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.  I'm reading it to my kids.  I haven't read it since I was a kid.

On my TV.....
Will and Grace for now.  Sydney is obsessed with Will and Grace and I have always loved it.  It kind of makes me proud.  Later, fingers crossed that I will finally get the chance to watch Season 3 of Downton Abbey.

What I found while surfing the net....
Great Girls Your Daughter Should Know  It's a great blog post about books and the inspiring female characters in them that every little girl should become acquainted with instead of the Bella in Twilight type.  I'm working my way through this list with my kids.

On the menu for this week....
Monday: Crunchy Beef Casserole
Tuesday: Pizza
Wednesday: Lemon Pork Chops with Mustard Sauce
Thursday: Chicken Thighs with Carrots and Potatoes
Friday: Out to eat
Saturday: Out to eat for Torren's Birthday
Sunday:
On my to do list....
Laundry
Kitchen floor
Dishes

In the craft basket....
Granny Square Blanket

Looking forward to this week....
Ben's last week of school.  I'm a little sad about it, because he loves it so much and I get to go to his school and socialize with his classmates parents.  There are some really amazing, nice, smart women there, but I'm also excited about having him home all summer so we can do lots of other fun things.

Looking around the house....
The kids are playing and making messes.  I have a load of laundry to be folded waiting in the hallway.  There are a few dishes in the sink, and piles of junk on the kitchen table in need of being put away.

From the camera....

On my prayer list.....
Sandra and her family while they wait for their news to tell them what their future holds.
My husband for safe travels later this week.

Bible verse, Devotional....
Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Hi, I've just popped by via Sandra :) I love Will & Grace too, such a hilarious show!

The blog post you link to is so great, my little girl is still too young to worry at the moment but I definitely want her to know female characters that are not the 'Bella type' as she gets older!

Have a lovely week :)

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
