Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window:::
Everything is covered in white, and it's so cold.

Right now I am:::
Relaxing on the couch and watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Thinking and pondering:::
Money... I'm so nervous about how much the van is going to cost when we pick it up from the shop tonight.  Also, Rylie's birthday.

On my bedside table:::
I've not been great about reading again... I'm still working on Bridget Jones The Edge of Reason

On my tv tonight:::
Well right now, trashy reality TV.  As for tonight, I'm not sure, but maybe some The Following.

Listening to:::
Rylie's laughing as she chases the cat back and forth across the living room.

On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Roast and veggies
Tuesday - Taco Soup
Wednesday -
Thursday -
Friday - Ihop for Rylie's birthday
Saturday - Pizza
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
Laundry

Plans for this week:::
Monday: Pick up the van from the shop
Tuesday: Sydney's dance and costume fitting
Wednesday: Shawn leaves for LA
Thursday: Ben no school and Ben's parent teacher conferences
Friday: Rylie's 2nd Birthday!!!  Ben no school and Shawn home from LA
Saturday: Rylie's birthday party
Sunday: Hopefully nothing!

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
My crochet mood blanket and a heart bunting for over the fireplace.

My simple pleasure:::
Spending time with my family.  Not doing anything specific.  Maybe just watching a movie or playing a game, or even just sitting down for dinner together.

Lesson learned the past week:::
I'm still working on it, but PATIENCE!

Looking around the house:::
The house is pretty clean from the work Shawn and I put in this weekend.  Shawn is at work, Ben is at school, Sydney is laying on the couch not feeling too good and Rylie is playing with her Little People village in the corner of the living room.

From the camera:::

Prayer List:::
My husband for safe travels this week.  Myself to calm down a little, since I'm over stressed.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

You mood blanket is beautiful. I wish I could crochet like you and Sandra. I do not seem to have the patience to work on it. Quilting has become my thing recently.

Have a great week. I pray your van repairs were not too expensive.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
