Happy Homemaker Monday

I unfortunately haven't participated in quite a while. I've been drowning here and haven't had time for any of my fun stuff, but am attempting to go back to everything I've loved.

happyhomemakermonday

The weather outside is::::
Rainy and cold today.  High is about 54 degrees and it's supposed to rain all day and tomorrow.

On the breakfast plate this morning::::
This morning, I treated myself to my chocolate and hazelnut Chobani flips and a bagel with cream cheese.

As I look outside my window:::
It is so dark out and rainy.

Right now I am::::
Sitting on the couch, taking it easy and watching last night's Call the Midwife.

As I look around the house::::
My kitchen is a complete mess, but the dishes are done, so that's a positive.  The couch is covered in clean clothing in need of folding and there is a heaping basket of dirty laundry that needs washing. Rylie is watching My Little Ponies in the playroom, whilst playing with her ponies. Scottie is snuggled up snug as a bug on the chair with her iPad and a blanket. Shawn is in the office, on a very important business call, so we must stay sort of quiet until he's done.

On today's to do list::::
Laundry....I have plenty of laundry to wash, dry, fold, and put away.
Cleaning....In the kitchen, Unload the dishwasher and some picking up.   Set up the Braava or as Shawn calls it Brobot to do the sweeping and mopping.
In the living room....Vacuum.  Pick up toys.
In the bedrooms....make beds and work on packing up the things we won't need for a bit.
In the bathrooms....Complete wipe downs in both
Dance.... Sydney has dance this evening

Currently reading::::
I have been trying to read Hollow City by Ransom Riggs but haven't been able to find much time.  Ben has decided to read Harry Potter so I've decided to read them as well, so we can do like a book club.

On the TV today::::
Right now, Call the Midwife.  Later, if I have time, Quantico, Sister Wives, and Shahs of Sunset.

On the menu this week::::
I haven't worked on that yet either. That's another thing I need to work on today, as I need to put in a grocery order for a tomorrow delivery.

Monday - Bangers and Mash with veggies
Tuesday - Honey mustard baked Chicken
Wednesday -
Thursday - Frozen Pizza
Friday -
Saturday - At a friends
Sunday -

What I am creating at the moment::::
Nothing at the moment.

New recipe I tried or want to try this week::::
No idea at the moment.

Favorite photo from the camera::::
This photo is from my sister's camera, not mine, as I was unable to attend yesterday. I'm so proud of my baby brother who graduated from High School yesterday and will be leaving for Basic for the National Guard next month.  I hate him leaving but am so proud of him for making his dreams come true.

Seems to be a rainy Monday all around. We're getting the gloomy weather as well. Hope it clears off and the sun comes out for us both soon!

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
