Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
I think the high today is 91. Tomorrow it's going to be 85 which will be a nice change from the 100s we had last week while we were moving.

On my reading pile:::
I need to finish Hollow City but I had to put it on hold for the move.  I'm hoping to be back at it soon.

On my tv:::
I have to re-setup my DVR. We hadn't had TV since a week before the move. Thankfully we were able to watch Game of Thrones and still had Netflix.

On the menu for this week:::
I desperately need to plan a menu since I haven't cooked anything for the last week.

Monday -  Going out for my sister-in-law's birthday dinner
Tuesday -  Bangers and mash with roasted veggies
Wednesday - Chicken curry with rice
Thursday - Taco soup
Friday -
Saturday -

On my to do list:::
Laundry
Dishes
Sweeping
Lots of unpacking
Quick run to the grocery store

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Nothing at the moment but I can't wait to jump back into being crafty.

Looking around the house:::
Shawn is getting ready to run out and get subway for lunch, Ben is sweeping the stairs, and the girls are playing with dolls upstairs. We are all loving this house.

From the camera:::
At the beginning of the summer, this little cutie was too scared to be in the pool without a two hand death grip on either mom or dad while wearing a life jacket. The pool is about 4 feet deep so Ben is the only kiddo who can touch and keep his head out of water.  It's been about a month and she not only swims all over the pool in a life jacket or water wings, but will jump in and swim to the ladder with no floaties what so ever.  I'm so proud of her for her hard work, and over coming her fears. I should also point out that she is only allowed to go floatie free when an adult is right there working with her.

On my prayer list:::
A few people.

Something that inspires or brings a smile to your face:::

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
