Happy Homemaker Monday

Breakfast time....what is on the plate this morning:::: Coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. Looking around the house:::: I need to do a few dishes, pick up a few things in the kitchen, change the litter box, and do some laundry, but really I don't have too much to do around the house.  We have made a few fun purchases to make the house a little more homey like a tray for our ottoman and placemats for the kitchen table.  I still don't feel like this is our home, it's a house we live in to get by.  This house just feels tiny and squished together and very cold. On today's to do list:::: Laundry .....I have a couple of loads to wash, dry, and put away but not over bearing. Cleaning .....My kitchen is pretty much all that needs it.  The dishwasher needs unloaded and reloaded.  The floor needs swept, and there is some minor picking up necessary out there. Crocheting .....I'm working on a mat thing for the table to put our pretty fall decorations on...
Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness.  Lifebuoy , on the other hand... (Yechh!) ~ A Christmas Story You are standing outside the doors of your child's school waiting to pick them up.  The doors open and the children start spilling out into the school yard. Your child's teacher sees you, makes eye contact, and starts walking your way.  They are only about 15 maybe 20 feet away, but the walk to you feels like slow motion as your stomach drops and you want to turn and run, but can't. They tell you, your child did something so awful to a classmate that it makes you cringe and really want to run away. Surely I am not the only one this has happened to, right?  This is the 3rd time this has happened to me, this year.  When it happens to me, I feel like I've hopped in a time machine and I'm t...

Happy Homemaker Monday

Breakfast time....what is on the plate this morning:::: I'm currently enjoying a very large coffee and a handful of cheezits. Looking around the house:::: My house is pretty alright even though I just cleaned up the bathroom floor.  Rylie thought Barbie's swimming pool needed real water in it.  Needless to say, Barbie's pool isn't really meant to hold water.  I have very large pile of laundry to wash dry and put away but other than that it's not too bad here.   On today's to do list:::: Laundry .....I have a couple of loads to wash, dry, and put away. Dance ..... Tonight, Sydney has dance class. Cooking .... Easy dinner tonight to avoid a late night after dance. Phone calls.... I have a few phone calls to make for Ben's school's dines out program.  I have 2 restaurants and an activity place to book. Currently reading:::: Game of Thrones by George R R Martin On the TV today:::: --  Law and Order SVU --  Gracepoint --  Hart of Dixie The weather...

A Quick Catch Up

Yikes!  I have no other words! Ok, so I've been working on this post for a  few weeks now.  One filled with all of the craziness that has been going on in our house.  Instead I'll just let you know that we've been incredibly busy with the usual things.  School, soccer, marathon club, doctor's appointments, vet appointments, softball games, Shawn's business trips, house work, etc.  To be honest the house work has been falling behind and I'm playing catch up little by little. This post, I just want to focus on the things that aren't normal.  The things we don't usually do daily or weekly, like Ben's birthday and party, the Royals game we went to as a family, and Shawn's Aunt Bernie's memorial, and many more fun events. Ok, I guess I'll start with the Royals game since that happened first.  Shawn's dad has season tickets to half of the season and the tickets he doesn't use, he gets to trade some in for certain days and we all g...
