It's Thursday already!

I can't believe it's Thursday already.  Wow this week has flown by and completely gotten away from me.  Shawn and I have been kind of sick so the jobs around the house have been minimized this week.  Hopefully we'll get over this quickly.  Ben is finally getting better.  He's still got a pretty rough cough, but he's up running around, being goofy, and his appetite is finally back.  I treated him to a Wendy's kids meal today and Shawn surprised him with a chocolate bar from the gas station.

Here's a picture of Ben relaxing on the couch, with Shawn's pink Snuggie, while watching his movie (Cars) on my laptop.

I had a check up with my doctor yesterday.  I'm not gaining weight although I'm just getting bigger and bigger.  The doctor even made a comment about the baby's size when he was listening to her heartbeat.  I can tell you for sure, she is growing very fast and she moves a lot.  Shawn and I say that Ben was such a blessing so this baby is going to be our trouble maker.  We don't really know this, obviously, but Ben has been so easy that we're expecting something else for this one.  Haha!  I'm so excited and as time gets closer and closer I get more and more nervous.  Once again, I haven't done anything to get prepared.  It's hard to believe the baby will be here in less than 6 weeks.  I think I'm going to need to start pulling stuff up from the garage and get everything cleaned up.  I also need to go through what little clothing I have here and what clothing I have loaned to my sister, to find what we have that could work for a girl also.  My mom is going to bring the bassinet up one of these days.  The problem is, we are looking at the possibilities of moving.  If we move, what's the point in getting things ready here just to pack them up and go?

We like the house we live in, but with the layout isn't necessarily going to work for me when I come home from my c-section.  There are too many stairs here and the you can't go anywhere in here with having to go up or down.  Like I said, it is a really nice house but it's not really convenient for our family and our situation.  Besides, we all know how clumsy I am.  The last thing I need is to fall down the stairs while holding a new baby or while I'm recovering from the c-section, and we never did put a hand rail up on the stairs to the bedrooms.

In case you're unfamiliar with me, my clumsiness or the problems with this exact set of stairs, last January I fell down these stairs.  There is only about 6 of them and we were having a BBQ here, with guests over.  I ended up breaking my foot and having to have surgery a week or so later on it.

Here's a picture of the stairs and then a post surgery X-ray:

Alright, I'm going to get ready for work.  I'm hoping work tonight flies by as fast as the rest of the week has.  I'm excited for the weekend and the progress the weekend will hopefully bring.  Please look forward to us picking up our letter of the week again.  We'll be starting with B next week.  Also, stay tuned for the next couple of weeks to see how much we can get done, and what shenanigans we can get ourselves into, while preparing for the baby to get here.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
