Tuesday morning, Sydney was born by a c-section at 8:27 am. She was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long. I took the last pregnancy update pictures the weekend before.
Here I was at 39 weeks:
Tuesday morning, we went into the hospital to get prepped for the c-section at 6:00. I was so nervous. Here's Shawn and I, right before the walk to the OR.
Didn't Shawn look cute in his scrubs?
When I went into the operating room, they started the spinal, but had problems getting the flow they wanted which may have been the cause of the pain during the closing and putting the uterus back in... sorry if that is TMI. It was all worth it though, because this is what we got.
Our first picture with her didn't turn out too well because I was in so much pain. We decided we'd have to wait until later. Here's the picture we got...
After we got out of recovery, Shawn's parents brought Ben up. I was so excited to see what Ben would think of his new sister. He loves her so much! To see the love on his face when he looks at her makes me cry tears of joy. I am truly the luckiest Mom in the world. I just feel like I have the 2 best looking, sweetest, smartest, children ever and the perfect husband to match. Here's a few pictures of our perfect new family.
And here are some more recent pictures of my beautiful daughter Sydney.
Sorry if this blog is scattered and makes no sense. I'm a little drugged for the pain and overjoyed with my updated family. There will be plenty of blogs in the future, but for now, this is the best I can do. Also, I've decided that I'm going to try to fight through most of the pain and not take all the stuff the doctor recommended because I don't want to drug Sydney. She's so tired and I can hardly wake her to feed her. It's breaking my heart so I'm willing to make this sacrifice. The things we do for our children. Alright. I'm going to try to get some rest. Look forward to what kind of shenanigans we get into in the future with this new, larger, updated family.
