Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window:::
I think it is like -4 degrees outside right now with a windchill of about -25.  It's so cold, that they cancelled school all over today.

Right now I am:::
Eating my Greek yogurt with granola and watching last night's Sister Wives.

Thinking and pondering:::
Getting back into the swing of our schedule.

On my bedside table:::
Nothing at the moment, but I'm dying to get my hands on something good to read.

On my tv tonight:::
I need to catch up on my Downton Abbey since season 4 just started here last night.  I'm also binge watching Sons of Anarchy.

Listening to:::
My TV and the kids being loud and expressive while playing with toys.

On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Chili
Tuesday - Slow cooker honey mustard chicken with roasted potatoes
Wednesday - Potato egg casserole
Thursday - Spaghetti with bread
Friday - Grilled cheese and roasted red pepper  and tomato soup
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
Laundry
Dishes
Vacuuming
Plans for this week:::
Ben's school Tuesday through Friday
Sydney's school Tuesday and Thursday morning
Sydney's dance Tuesday night
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Right now I'm working on my crochet mood blanket, but I'm aching to do more.  I should pick back up an old project.

My simple pleasure:::

Snuggling my babies on the couch or in bed.

Lesson learned the past week:::
I'm sure there have been lessons, but I can't think of what they were off the top of my head.

Looking around the house:::
The big kids are sitting on the love seat, Ben playing a Man of Steel game on his iPad and Sydney watching H2O on her iPad.  Rylie and the cat are snuggled against me on the couch. The dog is huffing and puffing on the kitchen floor.  I have a basket of laundry begging to be folded sitting on the end of the couch and a load of dishes needing to be loaded in the dish washer.

From the camera:::

Prayer List:::
Family and friends

Bible verse, Devotional:::
So we are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:6-7

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
