Happy Homemaker Monday (even though it's now Tuesday)

I meant to do this so much earlier. but no, now it's 12:14 am and I'm just now sitting down to type this.

As I look outside my window:::
It's dark and warm... Luckily with it being quite hot, we've had a nice breeze.  The sun has been intense the past couple of days and we all have the burns to prove it.

Right now I am:::
Sitting in my bed, talking to Shawn while he packs for his trip.

Thinking and pondering:::
Sleep...

On my bedside table:::
My remotes, a water bottle and Breakout! by Joel Osteen

On my tv this week:::
I'm not really sure since half of my shows are now over for the summer.  I still have a few more episodes of Game of Thrones

Listening to:::
My husband being a goofball.

What I am creating:::

I'm finally back to working on my mood blanket.  I'm trying to finish it up.  Got a few more rows to go and the edging.

My simple pleasure:::
The book aisle at the grocery store or Walmart.  Even if I don't buy any, I love to go down the aisle, look at the beautiful covers and feel the pages.  I often buy at least one book when I had no intention of it originally.  A beautiful cover always catches my attention and half the time I don't read the back or cover insert before throwing it in my cart and moving along.

Homemaking tips:::
When you come home from the grocery store with produce, immediately rinse it.  Cut the tops off of strawberries, peel and cut up carrots, and put them all in little baggies or bowls.  Unless I have specific uses for it in meals we forget about our produce and it gets pushed to the back where we find it later, moldy, mushy, or a tad smelly and shriveled.  When my kids start nagging for a snack, I don't want to take the time to cut up the fruit or veggie for them, or when I get hungry I just want something I can grab quickly.  It makes healthy eating so much easier this way.

Looking around the house:::
I have two baskets of laundry on my bedroom floor to be folded and put away.  The kids are in their beds sound asleep.  My husband's suit case is packed and ready to go for his first business trip since Scotland was born.  I don't want him to go but I'm at a place where I think I can handle it.  We still have bags on the floor in the kitchen by the garage door from our vacation that need to be emptied out but thankfully all the dirty clothes have been washed.

From the camera:::
I have 2 that I so badly want to share.
Ben's first t-ball game

Scotland smiling for her Dad at the pool.  She's so in love with him.  It's the sweetest thing ever.

Prayer List:::
My sister who is going through some things in her personal life, my grandma as she had a rough fall, and my husband as he travels for work.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
(I'm stealing Sandra's Bible verse, because right now, this month with my husband doing plenty of travel, getting through many dance rehearsals and a recital, soccer camps, t-ball and getting ready to move, this will be my mantra.)

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
