Happy Homemaker Monday

Good morning!  It's a new day and a new week.  I'm exhausted from our mini weekend holiday.  Hope this Monday morning finds everyone well.  Now, lets get on with it.

The weather outside is::::
COLD! Very cold, but it will be nice and warm later today.

On the breakfast plate this morning::::
Blueberry oatmeal with a banana, some green machine, and I'm thinking about making some coffee.

As I look outside my window:::
Everything is covered in frost.  It looks cold but beautiful.  Later today though, it will be really warm.

Right now I am::::
Sitting at the kitchen table typing up this post and eating my breakfast.
As I look around the house::::
Sydney is sitting at the table watching the Fresh Beat band on her iPad, Scottie is sleeping in her carseat on the table, and Rylie is still asleep in her bed upstairs.  The house could use a little picking up, and I still have a bag or two to unpack from this weekend.  I also have a little bit of laundry piled up from this weekend to fold and some to wash.
On today's to do list::::
Laundry....I need to fold the clothes from our weekend holiday and wash the kids sleeping bags, and our clothes from yesterday.
Cleaning....In the kitchen....Dishes, and the floor really could use some attention, so I'll be sweeping and mopping it.  Also, there are a couple bags left in the kitchen on the floor that need unpacked.
In the living room....Just need to fold up the couch blankets, put the pillows back on the couches and pick up a couple of toys.
In the bedrooms....The beds need to be made.
In the bathrooms....Maybe a quick wipedown, but I tried to leave the house clean before we left so I wiped them all down Friday.
Grocery shopping.... I don't dare do a big trip with the kids, but I do need a few things from the shop. I also need to work on my meal plan.
Cooking.....I'm not sure yet what I'll be cooking today, but I sure will be.

Currently reading::::
Game of Thrones and Becoming Laura Ingalls Wilder by John E Miller

On the TV today::::
I've been watching Miranda on Hulu and laughing so hard.  Miranda Hart is hysterical!  I'll probably watch some more of it today.

On the menu this week::::
I'm not really sure yet.  I have to do my week meal plan first.

I'm a little envious of your weather forecast! :)

How do you like "Becoming Laura Ingalls Wilder"? I grew up reading the Little House books!
I envy your warm weather!! Would love to see your bunting when you get it done. Have a great week! ;)

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
