Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello and happy Monday!!!  I'm not quite sure why, and I don't know how long it will last, but today, I feel fabulous and just know that we're going to have a good Monday for once.  Ok, I know why.  My house is mostly clean.  My husband helped me this weekend get all the horrid cleaning done as well as all the odds and end jobs that need done during the weekend like laundry. Oh I married a wonderful man. Alright, now to my Happy Homemaker Monday post.  You can also join in on the fun and link up to Sandra's awesome page at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Right now it's 55 degrees with a high to be expected in the mid to high 70s.  Yesterday was glorious at about 80 degrees and it's only going to get a little chillier every day this week.  Fall is here!  Fall is here!

Things that make me happy:
Talking to this goofy little one over breakkie.

Book I'm reading:
Outside of children's books, I haven't been able to read in ages!  It's very frustrating as I love to read, and Shawn has been after me to read Game of Thrones and I'm still on the first book... for the last year or so. (I do really enjoy the book, I just don't have much time and when I do, I tend to be so exhausted I fall asleep reading and wake up when the book falls and smacks me in the face.)

What's on my TV today:
I've got some youtube vlogs to catch up on.
Also, I'm almost done with Gossip Girl
I have my Doctor Who from this weekend and last (I have to wait for the kids for that though)
SisterWives

On the menu for dinner:
I think we are going out tonight in Kansas City with family.

On my To Do List:
Put away the clean folded laundry
Start a load of the upstairs bathroom rug and towels and Rylie just had a little accident up there.
Unload the dishwasher and reload with breakfast dishes.
Finish my grocery list and weekly meal plan.
Put in a grocery order for delivery
Sydney has dance this evening

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
I think Shawn and I are looking for a good beef stew recipe we can do in the slow cooker.

In the craft basket:
Sydney had a family homework assignment that we collected some leaves for.

I have a few left over leaves, so I think I'm going to do something with Rylie that will use them.  Also, I'm dying to get my yarn and crochet hooks back out.  I don't know where it will take me but I'm getting them out today!

Looking forward to this week:
This weekend will be the kids final soccer games of the season.  After soccer on Saturday, there may be a pizza party, then we're going to the Maple Leaf Festival.  On Sunday, we'll be going to the Pumpkin patch as a family.  On Tuesday this week, is Rylie's class field trip to the pumpkin patch also, and Shawn is going to try and go too. Also, this week is class observation week for both Sydney and Rylie's dance classes so they are going to set up chairs and I can actually go in and watch what they do in class.

Tips and Tricks:
Hmmm.... I'll have to think about this one.

My favorite blog post this week:
I've been a bit disconnected from blogs lately but fully intend to get some reading done today!

A newly discovered blog or youtube channel you would like to share with the readers:
I've not really discovered any new ones lately... So, I'll share an older one with you. I'm sure my kids are just like most other kids and they enjoy watching the videos of people opening toys and whatnot. Sydney and Rylie got me hooked on one that is a mother-daughter team and they are so funny to watch. They don't play with the toys like some of the other youtubers do, but they do really good reviews of toys.  They are adorable and really seem to enjoy themselves and have a good time.

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

Lesson learned the past few days:

I don't know that I've learned any new lessons over the past few days, but I'm constantly being reminded of things that I've either forgotten or not thought about...
Honestly, just that if you stay positive and think positive, good things will come to you and you'll feel better over all.  Enjoy life and be happy for everyday.

On my mind:
My to do list that has been growing and growing.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
