Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
Right now, it's 30 degrees.  It's supposed to get up to 40 today though.

Right now I am:
Sitting at the kitchen table with Scotland in my lap.  Rylie is playing with a remote control My Little Pony scooter toy on the kitchen floor.

Thinking:
How busy today is, what all I need to get done, and the walk I want to go on.

On my reading pile:::
Right now, I'm reading a book my sister-in-law loaned me called Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

On my tv:::
I've got several shows to catch up on, just not sure how I'm going to fit TV in today.  Maybe during nap time. I've been really enjoying Super Store lately.  It really reminds me of The Office but in a Walmart type store.  It's nice to just laugh and laugh.  It's a lot easier to watch vlogs while I work on the iPad.

Something fun to share:::
This weekend we went to a birthday party for a little girl we've known for a couple of years and became friends with her family as well over the years.  This sweet little girl turned 6 and had a gigantic party where she chose to not receive gifts but instead take donations to give to the local humane society.  Such an amazing little girl to do something so grown up.
On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Ham and Cheese sliders
Tuesday - Meat loaf and mashed potatoes
Wednesday - Chicken tacos with cilantro lime rice and beans
Thursday -  Grilled herb chicken breast with veggies and salad
Friday - Cowboy Casserole
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
Laundry
Dishes
Tidying up the downstairs
Floors
Ben's Art class
Sydney's Dance class

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I started another corner to corner blanket a while ago.  If I get caught up in my video editing this week, then I should have time to work on it.

Homemaking Tips:::
I don't have any today, but I will be going around to everybody else's blogs today and take some notes.  Hahaha

Looking around the house:::
It is a complete mess! My kids have toys covering every inch of the down stairs.  It really just makes me want to shut down instead of get motivated and clean. At least the kids are happy, right?

From the camera:::

On my prayer list:::
My husband and our family as we are unsure of what the future holds for Shawn's job.
A very good friend of mine while she awaits the arrival of her new little baby.  She's 3 days past her due date and I'm sure getting quite antsy.

Bible verse, Devotional:::

We're having meatloaf and mashed potatoes today! I've been contemplating giving a corner to corner afghan a try. Maybe after I get a few wips finished up.

Happy Monday!

From the bottom up...a wonderful verse.
We've been in employment limbo for 7 months. It's not a comfortable position to be in. I'm praying right now that your future will be secure and that you can wait on the Lord. I'm really drooling over everyone's menus for the week!
Have a good week!

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
