Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
Right now, it's 15 degrees.  Today it's supposed to get up to 28 degrees but by Wednesday it will be back up into the 40s and then almost 60 Friday.  This Kansas weather...

Right now I am:
Sitting on the couch on my laptop watching the Today show on tv, sharing a blanket and cuddling with Sydney.

Thinking:
I'm the luckiest mom and wife.  My kids are super sweet and snuggly today and my husband helped a lot with the housework yesterday and there isn't much to do this morning.

On my reading pile:::
Just started Under The Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes

On my tv:::
Last weeks Grey's Anatomy and hopefully some Doctor Who Season 3.  I also promised the kids popcorn and a movie.

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
I'm afraid I don't have one really.

Something fun to share:::
I was poking around a little bit on pinterest, as I often do, and came across this really cool and cute blog.  My Material Life.

On the menu for this week:::
Tomorrow is grocery day so I have to come up with my menu plan and grocery list today.

Tuesday -
Wednesday -
Thursday -
Friday -
Saturday -

On my to do list:::
Menu and grocery list
Laundry
Dishes

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I'm still working on my hexagon blanket and I started these cute little warm compresses.

Homemaking Tips:::
I've probably said this before, but I can't stress it enough.  Make your own laundry detergent.  It is so easy, saves you money, and is so much easier on your skin.

Looking around the house:::
The house is actually in good shape this morning.  The big kids are both playing on their iPads.  Ben is playing Minecraft and Sydney is watching Austin and Ally.  Rylie is playing with toys on the floor and squealing like crazy.

From the camera:::
I just love how animated she gets over reading.

On my prayer list:::
My sister-in-law and her boyfriend for safe travels as they are on their little vacation.
My husband, who is feeling a little under the weather.
Any of my other friends or family who need prayers.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly be tested in every way, yet without sin. ~ Hebrews 4:15

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
