Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window:::
Currently it's a beautiful 73 degrees and cloudy as it's been raining this morning.

Right now I am:::
Drinking some coffee and watching Heartland.

Thinking and pondering:::
Just trying to relax a little.  I'm wearing myself thin and definitely not sleeping enough.

On my bedside table:::
A huge pile of books, a couple of magazines and the tv remotes.

Happening this week:::
Monday - Housework
Tuesday - Housework
Wednesday - Pick Shawn up from the airport
Thursday - Shawn's softball game
Friday - Ben's t-ball practice

What I am creating:::

I have a blanket going with 1 1/2 more rows to go and then edging and I've started a corner to corner to try and mix things up a bit.

My simple pleasure:::
Scrubbing pots and pans steel wool.  I don't know why, but I find it very therapeutic!

Homemaking tips:::
I don't know if this works for everyone, but it does for me.  When I need to get motivated and get cleaning, I turn my music on (I use the rdio app on my phone and play it over our block rocker) and crank it up.  Next thing I know, I'm dancing, singing at the top of my lungs and cleaning like crazy.

Looking around the house:::
The kids have some picking up to do. They have toys all over their room and living room floors.  I have a very large pile of laundry to fold in the hallway, but other than that, it's nice and comfy.  Now to pack up because we move the first weekend in July.

From the camera:::

Prayer List:::
My husband who is traveling this week.  My sister and her kids continue to be in my prayers as well.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ~ John 14:27

I think everyone I read these days is moving or has just moved. =) I don't envy you in the least.

I do however love the gnome and would just die to have one in my front flower beds by the mail box.

I love to listen to music to get my groove back when cleaning house. I get lost in the rhythms and before I know it I'm done.

Just one more day and you will have your hubby with you :)

I agree with the music to clean, I always seem to get more done if the radio is on.

Are you also doing a corner to corner granny?

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
