Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather outside is::::
It's like 80 degrees today but I hear, there is a cold front moving through tonight.

On the breakfast plate this morning::::
Coffee and a bowl of cream of wheat!  So delicious!

As I look outside my window:::
The sun is shining and it's beautiful!  If only the tree in my front yard would change colors already.  All the rest of the trees on our street are a gorgeous red, but not mine.

Right now I am::::
Sitting on the couch, typing this post, and watching a little Manzo'd With Children.

As I look around the house::::
I need to do dishes and oh so much laundry!  The floors need vacuuming and sweeping also.  The big girls are playing with toys in the playroom and watching their iPads, and Scotland is working out in her exersaucer.

On today's to do list::::
Laundry.....I have bedding, and lots of clothes to wash.
Cleaning.....I need to do the dishes, sweep the kitchen floor and vacuum the rest of the house.
Crocheting.....I'd like to work on my table centerpiece mat thing.
Cooking....I need to figure out dinner.
Dance.... Sydney has dance this evening clear across town.
Pumpkin carving!

Currently reading::::
Still trying to get time to read Game of Thrones by George R R Martin

On the TV today::::
-- Manzo'd with Children
-- My Five Wives
-- Hart of Dixie
-- Gracepoint
-- The Carrie Diaries

On the menu this week::::

What I am creating at the moment::::
I'm working on a crochet centerpiece mat for the kitchen table that is nice and fall-ish.  I also need to sew the hem on the mini table cloth I'm making for the make shift end table in the living room.  I also have a paint project for my living room.  I have some 8x10 canvases the kids are going to paint and then a really big one I'm going to tape off inspirational family friendly worlds and then paint it and then I have one canvas that I want to do all of our handprints on.  I think it will be really cool.

New recipe I tried or want to try this week::::
I got a new cookbook.  It's really amazing.  It's called Thug Kitchen Eat like you give a f*ck.  I love it because it teaches you the easy and tasty ways to cook healthy foods.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
