Happy Homemaker Monday

Good morning! What a wonderful weekend.  My only complaint is that it just wasn't long enough. Alright, lets get on with Monday.

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather:::
It's supposed to get up to 49 today, although it's super cold and frosty right now.  Tomorrow is supposed to be almost 60, then we go back to 30s and 40s.

On my reading pile:::
I put down Dragon Fly in Amber from the Outlander series for a couple of days while I read The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines. It's such a cute book and if you like Fixer Upper like I do, you'll love the book.  It's written just like they talk together.

On my TV:::
I'm not quite sure at the moment.  I think tonight Shawn and I are planning to watch another episode of Westworld.

On the menu for this week:::
This week, Shawn jumped in and helped me meal plan. I'm so excited he wants to be a part of it all now.

Monday -  BBQ Pork Chops with potatoes and Parmesan broccoli
Tuesday - Grilled hamburgers and veggies.
Wednesday - Roasted Lemon Chicken breast, potatoes, asparagus and broccoli
Thursday - Spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad
Friday - Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and green veggies
Saturday - Homemade Pizza (this may change if we end up having a bunch of company.)
Sunday - Not sure yet. It may be a nice big home cooked meal or a nice family night out.

On my to do list:::
Put in Grocery order
Quick run to the grocery store
Work on and organize our bedroom closet
Run the dishwasher
Fold and put away a load of towels
Vacuum all the floors and stairs
Dust
Sydney and Rylie's dance classes
Ben's clay class

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I finished the girls name banners for their rooms.  I also got out my new yarn that I bought a month or so ago and never touched and all my new (soft handle) crochet hooks. I'm looking a nice blanket pattern. Also Shawn found my crochet mood blanket from I think 2014. It is beautiful but has no edging, so that's in my to-do pile.

Looking around the house:::
My house is nice and tidy, since Shawn and I have been working together in the evenings to get it all picked up before bed.  It's so nice to come downstairs every morning to a clean home. I'm sitting typing this at the breakfast bar. Scottie is watching Octonauts in the chair next to me, and Rylie is playing Minecraft at the table behind me.  Shawn is downstairs in the office on a call. It's a nice, normal Monday.

From the camera:::
I just love my kid's preschool. They are an art based preschool, where they learn all of the normal things but through making art, exploring hands on, dance, and theater. It's such an amazing place.

Something fun to share:::
I've been really thinking about finding time everyday for meditation. I really like the idea of 10 minutes, too myself, to clear my head, pray, or focus on a question or problem I really need answers with. I found a couple of apps on my phone to help with this. Headspace by Headspace Meditation Limited and Infinite Abundance by Deepak Chopra. I also quite like the tips in this video by Jules Furness.

What I'm wearing today:::
Dark blue jeggings, a white tank top with a grey big collared long sleeved shirt, and my taupe Bearpaw boots.

One of my simple pleasures:::
My first coffee of the day.  The days here are so hectic with all of the kids, but that first coffee of the day. I like to sip it and pretend I have nothing else to do all day long, then, I'm pumped and ready for my day.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Today I started 13 days of Psalms of Gratitude on the She Reads Truth app on my phone. This is from today's devotional.

For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations. ~ Psalms 100:5

That's really the key to keeping your house clean - pick up and put away before you go to bed. So nice not to come down to glasses on the coffee table, books and magazines all askew, etc. The preschool sounds amazing - I loved our homeschooling years when we did a lot of what I called outside-the-homeschooling, visits to local historic sites, museums, and galleries. My daughter learned a lot about things by actually experiencing them.

Have a great week!

It's always so nice to wake up to a clean house. That's one I haven't done in some time. Need to get back on top of things around here. I love that first coffee of the day as well. Hope you have a wonderful week!

It's so great when the preschool lets kids explore! At that age, they learn so much just from tinkering around. (Heck, I think that's true at any age). Have a great week!
I think taking that time to meditate is so important - great idea Hon!

I LOVE the OUtlander tv series, but haven't been able to get through the books. I watched the first several Westworld (interesting concept, huh?) - but now I'm behind in quite a few.

I hope you have a blessed week ahead! xoxo

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Happy Homemaker Monday

   As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. Blogmas 2014 - Day 13 How Are You Counting Down To Christmas

Ok, honestly....  I'm not.  I have this gorgeous advent calendar that is 3 building with little numbered doors all over them.  I haven't gotten it out for lack of space and really small children.  Maybe next year.  Also, Ben has been all over the lego ones and stuff so I figure, I'll pick up some next year or as I see them now this year, so each kid can have their own next year.  I don't know maybe I'll just make them if I'm feeling crafty and find the time.  It actually hit us all at once on Saturday that Christmas was less than 2 weeks away.
