Work Work Work

This week has been awful for housework.  We were pretty much only at the house to sleep, in between trips to Kansas City and a trip to Topeka from Friday through Monday.  We would drop our stuff at the door and never pick it up again.  The dishes (mostly cups) piled up, occasional laundry was done (but not folded), a layer of dust covered everything, and the house was pretty much an all around mess.  I don't function well in a mess and have been working away little bit by little bit to get everything back in order, but it wasn't going fast enough.  Today I decided that I had to get the house completely clean, because I couldn't live with the mess anymore.

I am proud to say that I am done.  The house is clean.

Scotts Lawn Care even came out this morning so in no time I suppose our lawn will be looking even better than before.  Truth be told, I didn't have a problem with our lawn.  I was happy with it, and thought it already looked great but our landlord wanted to do it, so I'm not complaining.

I made some fruit flavored water that I got Sandra's food blog, here, after reading that she likes her water like this and doesn't really like water.  I have to be in the perfect mood for water.  It has to be ice cold and I have to be very thirsty, so I decided to give it a try.  Let me just say, yum!

The first is a mixed berry that had strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries, the second one has cherries and blackberries, and the third has raspberries and peaches.

Since I've been busy all day, and haven't gotten the opportunity to run to the grocery store yet, and Shawn has Dungeons and Dragons (I know, he's such a nerd) tonight, so Shawn is picking up pizza from a new pizza restaurant here.

Tonight while he's gone, after the kids go to bed, I plan to hopefully get a little more reading and studying done.

I'm so excited to start my RCIA classes this summer.  Yesterday, during my reading, I was moved by what I was learning.  I just knew that I was making the right decision.

Ooooh you got good water combinations going there :) Glad you like it. It's the only way I enjoy water LOL

Good luck with your RCIA classes, how exciting :)

Thank you. I'm excited to start RCIA classes in August. Until then I'm doing online study classes. It's been great for me spiritually.

Long Time, No Talk

Hey!! It’s been so long since I’ve come on here with anything other than recipes. Sadly, I haven’t been cooking much lately, so I don’t have any new recipes at the moment, but I have been super busy. It’s Nutcracker season in our house. It’s Christmas time, school concert time, and we have a million birthdays happening now and soon, but the thing that’s taking up all of our time is Nutcracker Shenanigans. All three girls are in the show. This year, Scottie is a sunflower. Rylie is a party child, a strawberry, and the understudy for both Clara and Fritz. Sydney is a snow, a trooper, and a part time flower. Ben is also working tech for the show. He’s been helping set everything up, and during the show he’ll be working the light board. I’ve been volunteering by watching littles during the tech week rehearsals, and another mom and myself have taken on the responsibility of running the Nutcracker Tea Party fundraiser for the pre professional dance company. It’s been fun, exhausting, someti
