Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
It's 73 degrees today.  We're getting ready to go to the park here in the next few minutes.

Right now I am:

Watching silly reality TV and looking through cookbooks while the kids finish their lunch.

Thinking:

I could really use a nap, but I have no time.

On my reading pile:::
Haven't had much opportunity to read for me, but when I do I've been reading Widow of Larkspur Inn.  I've also started reading Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder to the kids at bed time.

On my tv:::
Ripper Street and hopefully some Chicago Fire with my husband this evening.

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
I've not been doing a whole lot of blog reading this week

Something fun to share:::
Barbara Brackman is a Quilt Historian, and she has a gorgeous blog filled with beautiful quilts and the story behind them.  Well worth the read if you love quilting :)

I'm working on my menu plan for Thursday on so I don't have that right now.

Monday - Meatball Sandwiches
Tuesday - Baked chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies
Wednesday - Pizza
Thursday -

Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::

Homemaking Tips:::
I have nothing...

Looking around the house:::
My house is fairly clean if you look past the basket of clean clothes to be folded in the hallway and the dishes in the sink... And the cookbooks on the kitchen table.

From the camera:::

On my prayer list:::
My family and friends.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you know how you should respond to each one.

I have to work on my menu plan today, I don't even know what I'm making tonight and that is freaking me out lol

I've read the books you're reading, and enjoyed them :)

Also loving Ripper Street.

Hope you're having a good week.

I can imagine being freaked out by not knowing what's for dinner tonight. Usually those nights we grab some dinner if I haven't already planned it.

I'm glad I picked back up The Widow of Larkspur Inn. Also, the little house on the prairie books have always been a favorite of mine. I remember my mom reading them to me and my little sister when we were very young. I used to run around in the tall grass in the field next to our house and pretend to be Laura. I've always been obsessed by Laura Ingalls Wilder so it's fun to see how my kids are loving the books too.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
