Hello 2013

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope everyone had a fun and safe time last night, as I know we did here in the Tiemann House.  I'm not much of a fan of resolutions, because I think, if you feel there is something you need to change, you should just do it, instead of doing it at the beginning of the year and calling it a resolution.  With that said, my friend Sandra posted this picture and it's what I intend to do as well.

Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate family and myself all year long.

Last night, we made snacky foods, like rotel cheese dip, veggies and dip, and hot chocolate brownies.  We bought New Year's Eve party kits from the store that had hats, tiaras, necklaces, and horns.  We also bought those cracker things that you pull open, they make a pop, and inside is a small toy, like a whistle or a top and then of course we bought bunches of those fun poppers that you take outside and pull the string and confetti flies everywhere.  I also made sure we had champagne (I didn't like this one too much as it was too incredibly dry) and the kids had sparkling cider.

Shawn's sister Kelly and her boyfriend Michael came over and we watched Game of Thrones together.  We started that together on Saturday and are almost done with the first season.  Shawn and I have already seen the first two seasons but the kids and I got him the blu ray of the first season for his birthday so we have been watching it as a group.  I hear that after we finish it, while we wait for season two to come out, we'll be watching Downton Abbey since Kelly hasn't seen any of it, and Shawn and I missed most of the second season.  Michael seems really excited for us to watch it, which is awesome.  I've had a lot of fun with Kelly and Michael.

It's always chaos in our house...

After a couple of group photos, they paraded through the house, dancing and tooting horns right and left.

I have the goofiest family, and I love it!

Happy New Year everyone!  Enjoy your day... and your year.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. On the menu for ...

Blogmas 2014 - Day 13 How Are You Counting Down To Christmas

Ok, honestly....  I'm not.  I have this gorgeous advent calendar that is 3 building with little numbered doors all over them.  I haven't gotten it out for lack of space and really small children.  Maybe next year.  Also, Ben has been all over the lego ones and stuff so I figure, I'll pick up some next year or as I see them now this year, so each kid can have their own next year.  I don't know maybe I'll just make them if I'm feeling crafty and find the time.  It actually hit us all at once on Saturday that Christmas was less than 2 weeks away.
