Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather.....This summer we are having crazy weather.  Usually we are in the high 90s or in the 100s, and this is our weather forecast for this week:

Right now I am....Sitting on the couch with my monsters watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets... again!  Poor sick Rylie baby is laying in her playpen, asleep.

Thinking....How lazy I want to be today.  Sydney has dance camp this evening, but other than that, I'm lounging around.

On my reading pile....Finishing up The Duggars: 20 and counting

On my TV.....I have no idea.  I have some shows on the DVR to watch and maybe after the kids go to bed this evening I'll watch Borgia on Netflix.

What I found while surfing the net....I have nothing this week.

On the menu for this week....I've got to go grocery shopping Wednesday so I have a menu only through Tuesday.

Monday - Grilled Cheese sandwiches
Tuesday -  Pizza
Wednesday -
Thursday -
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list....
Dishes
Laundry
Take Sydney to dance camp
Maybe a Doctor's visit for Rylie

In the craft basket...I'm going to start working on my granny square blanket again.

Looking forward to this week....Trying to get us a new schedule so that school schedules won't be such a shock in 2 1/2 weeks.

Looking around the house....I'm surrounded by my wild and sweet kids.  Poor Rylie is sick so she is sleeping in her playpen next to the couch.  The kids have a few toys on the living room floor to play with and there are dishes in sink to be put into the dishwasher.  There, as always, is laundry in baskets waiting to be washed, dried, and folded.  It's a cold rainy day though, so instead of doing housework at the moment, I'm painting nails and laying on the couch.

From the camera....
Got to use my new tea pot yesterday for the first time.

On my prayer list.....
My sweet Rylie as she tries to get over this awful cold she has.
Sandra's family as her brother and his family begin their new lives here and her husband starts the oh so enjoyable job search.

Bible verse, Devotional....
This we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil ~ Hebrews 6:19

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
