The Undomestic Goddess - Book Review

My 6th book I read for my 24 books in 2017 was The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. Can you tell, I've been really loving Sophie Kinsella?

The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
Paperback: 400 pages  Publisher: Dial Press Trade Paperback; Reprint Addition (April 25, 2006)

This book was pretty hysterical. Undomestic Goddess is about a woman, Samantha Sweeting, who is a lawyer trying desperately trying to make partner. She hears a rumor that she's made partner and it will be announced later in the morning, but just after people start congratulating her, she realizes she made a horrible mistake that will cost her company a lot of money and she'll never be made partner. She leaves and just keeps walking and riding trains until she arrives at a mansion in the middle of nowhere. She stops to ask for directions and is mistaken for a housekeeping applicant. Samantha doesn't know the first thing about cooking, cleaning, or mending clothing, but her competitive side won't let her fail a job interview. She gets the job and then hilarity ensues.

There is also a hint of mystery as we later find out that her mistake she made, may not have been such a mistake after all.

I literally laughed out loud while reading this. It's a fun, quick read, that will keep you entertained from the very beginning to the end.

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Happy Homemaker Monday

As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. On the menu for ...

Blogmas 2014 - Day 13 How Are You Counting Down To Christmas

Ok, honestly....  I'm not.  I have this gorgeous advent calendar that is 3 building with little numbered doors all over them.  I haven't gotten it out for lack of space and really small children.  Maybe next year.  Also, Ben has been all over the lego ones and stuff so I figure, I'll pick up some next year or as I see them now this year, so each kid can have their own next year.  I don't know maybe I'll just make them if I'm feeling crafty and find the time.  It actually hit us all at once on Saturday that Christmas was less than 2 weeks away.
