Counting and Shapes Games

Today, Ben told me over and over again that he wanted to play a game, but didn't know what game to play.  So, I made two educational games for him. Counting Game What you'll need: 2 different colors of paper scissors marker How to make it: 1.  Divide one sheet of paper into 10 boxes. 2.  Number the boxes.  3.  Cut out 10 squares from the other paper. 4.  On each square put 1-10 dots or other shape. How to play: Count the dots and put the dotted card in the box with the correct number.  Ben has a problem remembering the number 3, but once you help him with 3, he can count to 10 and beyond.  I was surprised that he could recognize the written numbers 1-10 as well as he could. Foam letters and finger paints

As I mentioned before, I've been making the alphabet out of craft foam for Ben as we go along with each letter of the week.  This week we've been working on the letter G with the exception of our little time out for St. Patrick's day crafts.  He likes to play with the letters and eventually after he really learns what the letters sound like and whatnot, we might be able to spell out small words with them as well.  Here's what we have so far: (They are not the neatest, but they were the best I could do...) As I mentioned yesterday, Ben really loves the letters and asked me yesterday to do shapes for him as well.  I made these for him and maybe as we learn more, I'll make him more. Last night, at Michaels, we bought finger paints.  Ben had so much fun with watercolors that I was excited for him to try the finger paints.  We tried them today for the first time.  It didn't turn out to be as messy as I was thinking or ...
