Future and Recipes

I’ve gotten so bad at many things as life has gotten more busy. Throw in a pandemic and 4 kids remote schooling and everything I really enjoy doing has going to the wayside. My reading was a struggle, crocheting hasn’t happened in months. I did a little embroidery for a week or two, but quickly ran out of time for that. Blogging, vlogging, photography, etc has been non existent. Cooking, which I usually love, has really become a major chore. When I do cook something that we love, I usually lose the recipe in my long open list of tabs on my phone, iPad, or computer. I was a hot mess before the pandemic, but now, I’m a hot mess unable to get off of the struggle bus that has become life.  Ok, well I have decided that I don’t know how much life posts I will have here, but I do know that I need a place to put our loved recipes. So, I’m going start that now. Sharing my family’s favorite recipes we’ve found all over the internet with everyone else, in one place so I can find it again and ...

2019!!!

Hello 2019! Last year, 2018, was a year that for a good chunk of, I forgot about me. I spent most of my time running kids from place to place, didn't crochet, cooked a lot but didn't keep track or log my recipes, barely kept up on videos, no blogs, and didn't read as much as I'd have liked. I ended up struggling a lot with my anxiety and depression. It's now 2019 and I'm still struggling with anxiety and depression, and life won't slow down much any time soon, but I need me. I need to go back to doing what makes me happy too. I'm listening to books on audible and podcasts, I'm relearning French (and taking lots of notes because secretly I miss school, just not all the craziness that goes with it and scheduling), I've pulled old crochet projects out and jumped back in, as well as am planning new ones, I'm already on my 3rd book of the year for me (not counting Farmer Boy that I'm reading to the kids), we've had family game ni...

New Years-ish Post and Morning Frustrations!

Good Morning and Happy Friday! I sure hope the new year finds everyone well. Every year I look back on the year before. This year, I don't really want to do all that.  While it wasn't a completely awful year, it wasn't a great one either. We've lost loved ones. I went to two funerals this year for my only surviving Grandparents. Rylie went to kindergarten and Scottie started preschool. That's about the only things that really happened at all.... Here is my top 9 from this year on my instagram. It's pretty good at catching some highlights of the year. And the kids Christmas picture I also always say that I hope to get back to my blog. I'm not going to say that, even though I intend to. I just feel that actions speak louder than words. I'm back to videos, back to my blogs, trying to catch up my book and recipe updates. I'm also still reading. We blew past both of our goals last year. 60 recipes completed in our 52 in 2017 and 33 or so ...

A Look Back on the Year 2016

What a crazy year this has been! As I type this, the year is coming to a close. So much has happened, both good and bad. From celebrity deaths, to politics, to just crazy stuff in general... I wouldn't have believed all of this would happen if you had told me last year.  Lets just have a look back at all the crazy/scary/exciting/fun/sad stuff that the year 2016 has brought my family. I've been so bad at updating that I thought I'd throw as much as I can of our year into a giant post before I start fresh in 2017. The best place to start is exactly at the beginning, maybe even a little before.  I will warn you up front, this post will be quite long. Lets start New Years Eve. December 31st 2015... We'd been recovering from a crazy stomach bug that swept through the house, hitting everyone but Shawn, and maybe Ben.  We were celebrating at home, as we tend to do, but had no company due to everyone in recovery. We watched Minions, snacked on snacky foods, snuggled, si...
