Whew... Thursday

When I woke up Thursday, I didn't expect to have the busy day we had.  It's the days we spend together as a family that I cherish and especially days where I'm able to somewhat keep my sanity. We got up, dressed and fed the kids in a hurry, made my coffee and ran out of the house as we do every Tuesday and Thursday.  We aren't the best about getting up and around.  In the mornings the kids like to lay around on their iPads or playing with blocks which is hard to break on days Ben has school. While Ben was at school, the girls and I had a couple of errands to run and while we were out we decided to run by the pet store (not the one we went to Tuesday) to pick up some pig ears for Maya.  They are her favorite.  Sydney also picked out a pretty and bright colored tennis ball for her.  They had two sweet kittens there for adoption.  I fell in love, but it made my heart ache a little for Petty, probably because they looked just like her. The girls found some beautif

What A Crazy Week We Are Having

This week has been insane!  Monday, I still didn't feel 100%.  Sydney has had this attitude that will not stop.  Neither Ben nor Sydney listen to a single thing I say.  (I know every mother or even parent reading this is nodding their heads in understanding.)  Shawn came home and all we could do was fight.  It was just one of those days.  When I say we just fought and fought, I mean, over stupid things like Ben's chapped lips.  Yes, ridiculous fights you only have when you are tired and not feeling well.  I was mentally and physically exhausted and unwell.  I just couldn't stop crying and instead of going to bed, like I should have, I stayed up and continued to fight with everyone. The day wasn't all downs though.  We did read a few stories about the meaning of this week and Easter from the Catholic Bible stories for kids.  They really liked it, but it made Sydney, much like it makes me, very emotional.  After we were done reading the stories, she kept reading them an

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather..... Had a cold weekend with about 7 inches of snow....  Ready for warmer days.  Looks like the week is going to be cold though. Right now I am.... Sitting on the couch, fighting with Sydney about what to watch on TV. Thinking.... I would love a nice nap today, but I have way too much to do today.     On my reading pile.... The Widow of Larkspur Inn and Little House in the Big Woods. My goal is to finish both this week. On my TV..... Apparently Austin and Ally if you ask Sydney. Tonight, I hope to finally start Walking Dead.   Bates Motel Bones Favorite blog post last week (mine or other).... I don't know.  I've not been doing tons of blog reading.  I've only been keeping up on a couple lately. I would probably have to say  Diary of a Stay at Home Mom - And they grow....   It reminds me of how precious my time is with my kids because soon they'll be all grown up with families of their own. Blog hopping (newly discovered blog).... I haven't

Our Non Productive, Sick Weekend

Ok, so this weekend was supposed to be productive, but that backfired.  It started out by Ben being sick from Thursday on.  Friday, he was acting like he felt soooo much better.  Because of Lent, I can't have meat on Fridays, and I'm not a big fan of fish, but I do like sushi, so that's what I've been eating. Well, the kids don't like it so we told Ben that because he was sick Thursday he could pick what he wanted for dinner Friday.  He picked Taco Johns.  After eating only the meat part of 3 tacos and drinking a little root beer, guess what happened... Yup, he threw it all up. Shawn's sister and her boyfriend came over and watched the first half of the KU game with us before going home so he could do some accounting homework. Saturday, I'd planned on getting this house back in order.  Guess who woke up feeling pretty queezy?  If you guessed me, you were right.  I spent most of the day laying around with no appetite.  I didn't feel sick like Be
