Lack Of Motivation on Spring Break

This week is the kids' Spring Break. It stinks a little. Last year and the year before we tagged along to Shawn's business trips, but this year he didn't have a business trip so, we're at home.  Everyone around us had spring break last week, but our city lined up our spring break with the college so we can't even spend our days doing stuff with cousins or anything. The kids soccer started this week, which through a wrench in my day trip plans I was visualizing. It's hard to go somewhere a little ways away when you have to be back for practice by 5:30. I bought some little seed pots from the dollar section at target and plan to do some fun stuff with the kids this spring break. I also made sure to buy the kids some green shirts for the St. Patrick's Day Parade in town, since the kids first day out of school was St. Patrick's Day. Friday, Shawn was out of town, so the kids and I went to the parade with out him. We met with some friends there....

As If We Weren't Busy Enough

Life has been so insane, and now we are adding more...  Bothe Ben and Sydney have started soccer. Last week was their first week.  Ben's practices are immediately after Sydney's dance classes on Tuesday, but Sydney's dance is in another city and Ben's soccer is and the exact opposite side of town. Shawn has to leave work early to pick up Ben from me and run to soccer practice or else it just wouldn't be able to work. Now as if Tuesdays weren't busy enough, they just got busier... Saturday mornings, bright and early Sydney has her "games."  They aren't really games so much as a practice and scrimmage. She loves it so much! Ben has his games on Saturdays at noon.  His are real games except they are 3 vs 3 with no goalie.  He did really well for having only one practice before the game. Ben's team made a goal! Ben's team won, even though they don't technically keep score.  It was so muc...

Ben's Special Sunflower

As I've mentioned several times, Ben loves crafts that involve tracing his hands.  I found it on a really cute blog, What I Live For .  Since we've been doing flowers, I thought it fit with the weeks activities. What you will need: Construction paper scissors glue pen 1.  Trace and cut out your little ones hands.  (I cut out 16 of them.) (While I was cutting these out, Ben colored a letter M coloring sheet, since that was our letter of the week.  It did take a little while and he got a little bored so I let him get up and play while I finished.) 2.  Trace and cut out prints of your little ones feet. 3.  Cut out a circle from a piece of paper and a long strip for the stem. 4.  Glue the hands around the circle from the back. (I had enough to go around twice.) 5.  Glue the stem o...
