A big post Christmas blog.

This is probably going to be a fairly long entry with tons of pictures, so bear with me please. Last Wednesday (Christmas Eve's Eve) Ben and I made Ben's gift to his Grandparents.  We were going to buy cheap frames and let him paint them and put a picture of himself in there, but instead we decided to just make the frames all together because then he could really go crazy.  He had such a good time.  We even put his hand print on there since he loves to do them.  Here's some pictures of him making his frames and then the finished product. Wednesday night, we made sugar cookies as a family.  They were the last cookies I had on my list to make.  Shawn turned out to be a cookie making and decorating fool.  It was quite funny.  Here's how they turned out. Thursday, I had to work.  I went in long enough to get my work ...

Busy day turned out successful!

This morning, Ben and I got up, turned on the Christmas music, and finally did the Santa craft.  He had such a good time. I love that he loves to do things like that with me.  Here's a picture of our growing art gallery. We also did a ton of baking. We made 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies.  Ben ate so many cookies as they came out of the oven, I was worried he was going to get sick. We also made Pumpkin Chocolate Chip muffins which came from a bread recipe I got here.   Domestic Wonder - Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread .  All I did to change the recipe from what she did was I used regular sized semi sweet chocolate chips, no walnuts, and cut the time down to 15 minutes since they were in muffin tins instead of loaf pans.  Warning:  These are extremely tasty.  Today, we also got almost all of our shopping done.  We only have a few more specif...

28 weeks, cookies and doctors visits.

The plan for today was to get up with Shawn, when he left for work so we could have the car and finish Christmas shopping.  Since we were all up so late last night, things didn't quite work out that way.  Instead I worked on a little more cookies.  All I got done was the cake mix cookies, but believe me when I tell you they are so delicious.  My mixer is seriously wounded and possibly dead after that battle, but the cookies came out perfect. While I baked, Ben slept... Also, today was my monthly pregnancy check up with my doctor.  For anyone that has ever seen him or maybe even heard of him, he's quite studly.  Getting ready to go to the doctor is like getting ready for a first date.  I spend forever straightening or styling my hair in someway, doing my make up, and I try on several outfits just to make sure I look alright.  Can't be in the presence of this Godly man and look like a slob.  Today, I was the ...

New dryers and the beginning of Christmas cookies

This has been a wild weekend.  Yesterday morning, Shawn went to get a new fuse for our broken dryer only to find that the fuse was fine and it was the heating element on the dryer.  With that needing replaced and the timer needing replaced, it was going to cost about the same as buying another used dryer.  After consulting Shawn's parents and Terry (the family friend) we decided it would be better to either have the parts replaced or buy a cheap yet new dryer.  Later that evening, we were getting ready to leave to a friend's house for their Christmas get together called "The Lazy Day of Christmas" and we got a phone call from Terry.  He was in our drive way with a new dryer.  He helped get it in the house, hooked up and ready to go, and said "Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday."  I managed to wait until he left before the tears started.  It was just so sweet and touching.  It wasn't that he bought us the dryer, but it was the thoughtfulness b...
