Exhausted On This Super Long Week

This week is dragging on, ever so slowly! I can't believe it's only Wednesday night. I kid you not, yesterday, when I picked up Scottie from preschool, I thought it was Thursday and about told one of her teachers to have a nice weekend. Not only is the week dragging, but I've been so completely exhausted since Monday morning.  I just cannot get enough sleep. I've been going to bed earlier than normal, and Scottie has slept in her bed, all night, for the past two nights.  Usually she comes into our bed, waking me up, any time between 2 and 4. Why am I so tired?!?! So far this week, I haven't touched my crochet or my iMovie and I've barely touched my book or my camera.  I have, however, gotten all of Rylie's birthday present shopping done, started shopping for decorations, got invites filled out and mailed out, and kept the house relatively clean. I think Shawn and I are planning on going to brunch tomorrow morning after we drop Scottie off at ...

Bringing It Back

Sandra, over at  Diary of a Stay at Home Mom  had blogged about going back to the beginning of her blog, and getting back to what she loved so much about herself and the blog.  It sounded like a good idea, and that's what I intend to do as well.  I want to blog about what's important to me, and what my family is up to. I also want to get back into projects with my kids.  I'm planning on bringing back Watercolor Wednesdays and Finger paint Fridays.  I would like to work on the alphabet with both Ben and Sydney.  We'll probably do a lot of the projects we've already done, but they are new to Sydney and will make sense in a different way to Ben than they did before.  I'm hoping to spend more time either at the park or at the pool.  I'd love to get the kids going to play dates as well as "field trips" like the zoo, the river, the capital, etc. I'm going to make my husband sit down with me and help put together a page I can be proud of.  ...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm a little late on that, I know.  I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.  Nothing is better to me than spending time with people you love and delicious food.  We had a wonderful and really relaxing day.  I did all of my cooking the day before so I could relax.  Thanksgiving morning, Shawn got up to play football with his friends and the kids and I laid in bed and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  We spent the entire parade waiting for the Buzz Lightyear balloon which turned out to be about one of the last things in the parade.  Ben was so excited to see it.  Then we went to Terry's (a family friend who is pretty much family) and had a wonderful lunch/dinner with Shawn and Terry's families.  It was wonderful.  Friday night, we had dinner at Terry's house again.  Yummy leftovers! This coming week I have a few goals...  Get my car tagged, come up with ideas for our advent calendar, try at least one new recipe, wor...

What a crazy, wonderful, life we live

I can't believe how hectic things are here.  I'm really enjoying it all though, and I must say that I have the two most precious children in the whole world and they keep me well entertained. This week the weather was so hot that I cut out park trips all but two days.  Between the air conditioner being out on the car and the heat both inside and out of the car, it was just too uncomfortable and probably not very safe either. Tuesday, Shawn mowed the lawn at our old house.  I can't even begin to tell you how tall the grass was there.  It hadn't been mowed since we moved out.  Our mower was trying to cause trouble as well. Wednesday, we had our biweekly dinner with our friends Tim and Rebekah, but this time we did it at our house.  I made the tortellini salad since Shawn was so eager to show it off to people.  It was really good (not to toot my own horn or anything)!  Also, on Wednesday, my bes...

The big move

This weekend we had our big move.  We moved all of our major things and things we need to get by.  We still have quite a bit to move, but there is still tons to go through first.  We don't want to move junk or trash and I will not allow the clutter here.  I'm working on a daily, weekly, semi weekly schedule for the house work.  It will be more like a checklist.  I know that sounds pretty sad, but I find myself becoming a bit of a clean freak and if things don't get done then I can't function and this will hopefully help me to relax a bit.  I am also hoping that it will help put Ben at ease a little bit about his latest fears. He is terrified of bugs and spiders and even though we have none, if there is fuzz, dirt, hair, or anything on the floor he freaks out and thinks it's a bug.  On the occasion that a bug gets inside or a spider is on the wall, we have to slowly and calmly distract Ben preferably by taking him out of the room and the collect ...

Going to try to turn this day around.

Ben woke up early this morning after a late night and I am completely exhausted.  So much for trying to get some rest.  I might have forgotten to mention last week that my doctor is a little worried about preeclampsia.  So far I think I'm ok and seeing as how I'm 36 weeks a long today, I'm not too worried. I am quite a grump today though.  After the being up late and then getting up early nonsense.  I know that I'm going to be really tired for quite a bit here when the baby gets here.  That's the one part I'm not looking forward to.  I feel like nothing seems to be going right today. I need to turn this day around and get out of the grump.  After lunch, Ben and I are going to do his D is for dinosaur craft.  I'm going to try to work on my calendar for the month of March today as well.  Since the baby will be here, I'm scared of what that is going to do to Ben's craft time.  While it's fun, it is a lot of work for me.  I thi...

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  Sorry, I seem to be running a little late on that.  We brought in the new year at a friend's house.  Ben didn't make it until midnight, which really surprised me since he's sort of a night owl and had a nap in the evening.  He only missed it by about 20 minutes. This year, I've decided my resolution is to organize myself and my home, and declutter my life.  It's insane how much junk I have collected.  I've started keeping 2 planners.  One is for work and one is for home.  I need to keep those two parts of my life separate to keep the stress down in my life anyway.  I'm also making a calendar for our crafts and lessons for the week, as well as planning menus for the week for our family dinners.  I think this should hopefully keep things less stressful once the baby gets here also.  We scheduled the C-section for March 9th.  I'm so excited.  That means 9 weeks and 1 day from today, our new baby will be h...
