It's Thursday already!

I can't believe it's Thursday already.  Wow this week has flown by and completely gotten away from me.  Shawn and I have been kind of sick so the jobs around the house have been minimized this week.  Hopefully we'll get over this quickly.  Ben is finally getting better.  He's still got a pretty rough cough, but he's up running around, being goofy, and his appetite is finally back.  I treated him to a Wendy's kids meal today and Shawn surprised him with a chocolate bar from the gas station.  Here's a picture of Ben relaxing on the couch, with Shawn's pink Snuggie, while watching his movie (Cars) on my laptop. I had a check up with my doctor yesterday.  I'm not gaining weight although I'm just getting bigger and bigger.  The doctor even made a comment about the baby's size when he was listening to her heartbeat.  I can tell you for sure, she is growing very fast and she moves a lot.  Shawn and I say that Ben was such a ble

Still sick here...

So, Here it is the next Monday and Ben still has whatever this is.  I seem to have finally come down with whatever it is also.  I just feel terrible today.  I'm not posting this blog update to complain though.  I haven't updated in quite a while and really not a lot has happened since.  We've spent several days in bed watching Cars over and over again.  We haven't done any crafts, only a little bit of coloring.  Once again the letter of the week has been put off.  Thursday, Ben seemed really sick and worried both Shawn and I.  We took Ben to the doctor and found out he has bronchitis and the beginnings of an ear infection in one ear.  Friday, I seemed to think he was feeling much better but Saturday, after a night of hardly any sleep for any of us, we woke up to a sick boy with a fever. Saturday, my mom and brother came out and stayed with us.  They brought Ben a balloon which made him one happy kiddo.  We went to IHop Saturday night.  The first time Ben left the ho

Poor Ben

My poor baby is sick.  I hate when he's sick.  I think that's part of being a parent though.  When your kiddo is sick, you feel terrible for them.  The night before last, he didn't sleep well at all.  He was all clogged up and could barely breathe.  He had a cough and everything yesterday.  Last night, he was up all night and woke up with a fever of about 101.  He never gets a fever. Here's a couple of pictures from last night of my sicky boy: I've had him in bed with me, in our pajamas, all day and we've been watching Cars on repeat.  It's his absolute favorite movie.  We've read books, and I brought a few of his Cars toys up to watch the movie with us.  I'm trying to keep him loaded up on Sprite too.  He doesn't get pop often so it's kind of a treat.  Shawn also brought him a Ben sized basketball when he came home from work on his lunch with more sprite and some Motrin for the little man. I haven't slept well in

Problems with Motivation

I'm having a hard time getting motivated today.  I feel like I was busy all weekend, and didn't sleep well this weekend either.  I had a great weekend, don't get me wrong.  Friday night, we went to Ihop with some friends and then we all hung out back at our house until about 3:30 am. Saturday, we went grocery shopping then Shawn had his nerd session (Dungeons and Dragons) at a friend's house until about 2:30 am.  While he was there, my sister, brother in law, and nephew came over.  I hadn't seen them since Thanksgiving, so it was really nice to spend time with them.  Ben doesn't get a lot of time with other kids either so playing with CJ (his 1 year old cousin) was nice for him.  I was surprised at how well Ben acted since he's never really had to share his toys or his snacks before.  Sunday, we went to my Aunt and Uncle's house.  It was so nice to see them!  I've really missed them a lot.  I can't believe how much my cousins have grown.  The

Busy Busy Busy

This week has been really busy between all of our errands and our crazy work schedules.  I think our letter of the week will be postponed this week since we have yet to even start learning the letter B and it's already Wednesday.  We've started a new schedule in the house, where we get more done during the week so the weekend is more relaxing.  Obviously the work schedules are staying the same.  Shawn still works from 8ish to 5 and I still work from 5 to 9 unless Shawn gets off of work early for some reason or if he has to work late his mom is sometimes able to come out in the afternoon and watch Ben so I can go to work early and be done.  It's nice when she does this because Ben loves his Granny time and I like to be done with work early. Because I work so late, it's often easier just to pick up food on the way home from work, but with Ben's peanut allergy, it really limits us to where we can go.  This gets expensive quick, it's not real healthy, and we get s

A nice relaxing weekend.

We had a really nice relaxing time at our house this weekend.  It was nice, because last week I was extremely unmotivated and exhausted.  Maybe it will give me the nice jump start to this week I needed.  Today will be full of errands before work, so no time for a craft with Ben before I work this evening.  I should be going in a little early though so maybe when I come home we'll have time. Saturday, we laid around, watched Ben's movie - Cars (he's an addict) and played with toys. Later in the afternoon Shawn's parents came over and we ate chili, rotel cheese dip, and chicken dip.  We watched Cars again.  They hadn't seen it and because Ben loves it, we all watched it together.  After they left, Shawn, Ben and I made chocolate chip cookies together. The cookies came out super yummy and I got to use my new cookie dough scoop I got for Christmas. Su

The letter A pt 2

Today, we decorated the letter A. What you will need: crayons or markers paper scissors glue anything else you may want to decorate with 1.  Cut out a large A shape. 2.  I taped the A to another sheet of paper to protect the table. 3.  Let the little one color the A. 4.  While he was coloring, I cut out lower case A's. 5.  Glue the little A's or whatever you are wanting to decorate with to the big A. 6.  Glue the A to another piece of paper. And you're done.

The letter A

This week we are learning the letter A.  I got this really cute idea from another blog No Time For Flash Cards - letter A .  We followed this craft exactly but Ben enjoyed it. A is for Alligator What you will need: crayons glue green and white paper scissors googly eyes 1.  Cut out a giant letter A from your green paper.  I cut the 2 little triangles on the side of my A to make it easy to glue the eyes onto later. (While I cut this out, Ben was coloring a picture of an alligator.) 2.  Color the letter A. 3.  Cut out white triangles for teeth. 4.  Glue the teeth on. 5.  Glue the eyes on. And you're done. Here's the finished A Alligator and his coloring sheet.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  Sorry, I seem to be running a little late on that.  We brought in the new year at a friend's house.  Ben didn't make it until midnight, which really surprised me since he's sort of a night owl and had a nap in the evening.  He only missed it by about 20 minutes. This year, I've decided my resolution is to organize myself and my home, and declutter my life.  It's insane how much junk I have collected.  I've started keeping 2 planners.  One is for work and one is for home.  I need to keep those two parts of my life separate to keep the stress down in my life anyway.  I'm also making a calendar for our crafts and lessons for the week, as well as planning menus for the week for our family dinners.  I think this should hopefully keep things less stressful once the baby gets here also.  We scheduled the C-section for March 9th.  I'm so excited.  That means 9 weeks and 1 day from today, our new baby will be here.  I'm also stressing bec
