Attempting to be a Super Mom

I seem to have caught another cold... I swear I spend the entire winter with a cough, sore throat, and clogged nose. I'm so tired of it. The worst part is, yesterday I was saying how this cold wasn't so bad (I'm the 5th in the house to catch it) and that the cough was annoying but I was glad I didn't feel completely down. As the day has gone on today, I've felt worse and worse, and now I just want to lay down. If only a nap was possible.  Tonight, the big 3 have swimming lessons. As they are only 30 minutes long, I need to stick around. Usually I don't mind, but when my chest and throat are sore, nothing sounds quite as awful as sitting in a chlorine filled room. I'll be there again for Scottie's lessons, tomorrow morning also. Tonight, I'm making Sloppy Joes and roasted veggies for dinner tonight. I've seen Sloppy Joes on several meal plans lately and it sounds delicious. I had a grocery delivery this morning. (The worst part...

Yesterday was a sad day in the Tiemann household. We lost our dear friend, furry family member, and canine companion, Maya. Years and years ago, we were looking for a dog. We knew we wanted a young dog, but not a puppy. We were hoping for a housebroken dog that would be good with children, as we had a one year old baby, but scary to potential intruders. After some research we learned that labs or shepherds were our best bet for all that we were wanting. We talked about it with a couple of people, and one of Shawn's friends put us in touch with someone in her family that was wanting to re-home their two or three year old lab. They said they had been too busy to give her the time she deserved, as they had older kids that were quite active in sports and such. We set up a time for them to bring her over and visit, so we could get to know her, and the family could get to know us. Instantly I knew, she was meant to be a part of our family. Life has been a crazy whirlwind lately.  A whirlwind consisting of Spring Break, Easter, Shawn's work travel, dance, art classes, school parties, soccer, and Hand Foot and Mouth. We've been house hunting for the past several months, which has been way more stressful than I imagined it would be. There just hadn't been much hitting the market and now that there finally is, they are selling super fast. I'm afraid we're going to have to get really aggressive. A house we loved online went under contract in less than 24 hours of being on the market. Insane right? Shawn had a work trip that just so happened to fall over Spring Break so the kids and I tagged along and made a vacation out of it. So the whole week of Spring Break we were in Denver Colorado.
