Crazy crazy stuff

I don't get to blog a lot lately.  It's kind of sad, but I honestly had no idea it has been about 2 weeks since my last update.  Time is still just flying by, and I feel like we are barely hanging on by the seat of our pants. Halloween is creeping up on us an we are trying to enjoy as much Halloween stuff as we can.  Last week we baked sugar cookies and made foam cut outs of fun Halloween inspired shapes to put on the wall.  This week I'm hoping to do some more crafts, and to make fun rice krispie treats. We started really trying to potty train Ben.  It's been a crazy and rough experience.  Ben isn't so sure he wants to go to the big boy potty most of the time.  He does like to go sit there and read his book about the potty and sometimes he'll go.  It's just not working out as I had hoped it would. Sydney has become extremely mobile.  I now have two children that are going in opposite directions 99% of the

Renaissance Festival

Great big turkey legs, people in costume, neat jewelry, fun shows, who doesn't love the Renaissance Festival?   The kids and I spent the weekend at the Renaissance Festival.  I have to admit that I was a little nervous at first.  Two small children and one with a peanut allergy at an outdoor festival with lots of people and all kinds of foods.   Saturday, we went with Shawn's family and Sunday, the kids and I went with my family while Shawn helped his parents with some yard work.  What a good son he is! While we were at the Ren Fest, Shawn asked the vendors about the turkey legs and whether or not they were peanut free.  After checking with several people, the gentleman came back and replied that unless the turkey ate a lot of peanut butter before he was killed, we would be A-OK.  Shawn also asked about the cinnamon almonds, which just so happen to be one of my favorite things in the world.  Ben doesn't have a tree nut allergy, only peanut, but often, there is a cross co

The letter C

Ben and I came up with this craft on our own and I'm really happy with how it turned out. C is for Chicken What you'll need: construction paper scissors glue a googly eye 1.  Draw and cut out the letter C. 2.  Cut out a head, 2 legs, a beak, and the red thing that goes on top of his head (sorry, I don't know what this is called). 3.  Glue the head onto the C. 4.  Glue the legs onto the bottom of the C. 5.  Glue the red thing on the top of his head. 6.  Glue the beak on. 7.  Glue on the googly eye. And you're done.
