The Past Couple Of Weeks

This is a blog post I was working on last week and then my computer died and because of problems with the power cord, this is the first opportunity I've had to post it. The past couple of weeks have gone by in a blur of busy-ness and sickness. Last week, was so crazy, across the US and at our house. Monday, the kids and I had many errands to run so we finally got up, motivated, and out of the house.  We went to the library, the bank, lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, the church, Ben's dr, the grocery store, and the pharmacy. During our errands, we heard the awful news of the bombings in Boston.  My heart immediately began to ache and I found myself reading news sites instead of paying full attention to what I was putting in the grocery cart, etc. On the trip home my throat was starting to hurt.  By the time we made it home, my body was achy and week, and I just felt awful.  It took everything I had to carry in the groceries and put them away and get a q

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather..... Right now I am.... Snuggling with my girls on the couch and watching Disney Junior.     Thinking.... I could really use a nice mocha.  Haha!  I'll be making one in a moment or two. On my reading pile.... I just picked up Swimming to Elba by Silvia Avallone at the library, so I need to get started on that, also I  have a couple of chapters of Little House in the Big Woods left to read to the kids, because I've been slacking and then we want to start Charlotte's Web since the next couple of Little House books were already checked out at the library. On my TV..... I need to watch Downton Abbey season 3 and get that DVD to my mother-in-law so she can watch it.  Also, new Call the Midwife from last night. Blog hopping (newly discovered blog).... I wasn't able to read any blogs last week.  Not even my favorites, so I have some catching up to do. On the menu for this week.... Monday:   Cheesy Spaghetti bake Tuesday:   Henry Ts (out to eat) Wednesda

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather..... It appears that Spring has sprung...  Some nice spring storms and mostly warmer weather. Right now I am.... Sitting outside at the table on the front porch while the kids run and play or stop to eat their snacks.    Thinking.... Ugh Monday... Mondays always seem to be the worst days for me. On my reading pile.... Starting a new one that I picked up last week at one of my favorite stores, Brits.  Jane Austen:  Her Life And Letters by William Austen-Leigh and  Richard Arthur Austen-Leigh On my TV..... Everything from my DVR since we are switching cable providers and will be losing our current DVRs on Wednesday. Also, Call The Midwife, The Bible and Season 3 of Downton Abbey Blog hopping (newly discovered blog).... I don't currently have anything but I hope to soon. On the menu for this week.... I don't really have a menu plan at the moment.  Shawn started a diet full of prepackaged meals and it's thrown my current plan into disarray. Monday:

Hanging In There

Another day is flying by.  Yup, I'm barely hanging on by the seat of my pants.  Today has been a bit of a lazy day here.  I have three sick kiddos, and I'm not feeling too hot myself.  Darn those germy children at Laugh Out Loud.  I knew this was coming.  When we were there yesterday, a kid that is always there had snot running all down his face and a horrible cough.  He even tried to drink out of my son's cup.  Ewwww. I have soo much to do today, but have no urge to do it.  I should have done it yesterday but spent the day at Laugh Out Loud and then in Kansas City, at my in-law's house. My mom got me this amazing book of daily devotionals, called Jesus Calling, for my baptism.  I've been reading them every morning, thinking about them all day long, and then re-reading them before bed.  I find myself meditating on them off and on all day. I've been having a hard time with Sydney lately.  I know it's completely normal to have a rough time

Easter Weekend

I sure hope that everyone else had an amazing Easter weekend.  I know I sure did.  I feel like I spent all of Friday running errands.  We went clothes shopping and to see the cute kitties at the pet store again.  Ben loved them too.  I really want them, but part of me still thinks it's too soon, and I'm not sure Shawn is ready yet either.  While we out and about, I made the decision to chop off all my hair. I love my new haircut.   I went to the Good Friday service alone since the Holy Thursday one lasted for 2 hours and I knew that Saturday's was going to be 2 1/2 hours.  I didn't want to push it with the kids.  The service was beautiful and only lasted a little over an hour. Saturday was a busy day.  We spent the morning getting stuff done around the house to prepare for the rest of the weekend.  In the afternoon, Shawn's family all came out to dye Easter eggs.   We didn't have long though because very quickly it was time to get

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather..... Right now I am.... drinking my coffee and watching The Bible with the kids.    Thinking.... I have a lot to do today as the weekends are usually a catch up time for housework, specifically laundry.  But this show is so good we can't really tear away from it. On my reading pile.... Ok, so we didn't get our books finished last week because we were so busy.  Hopefully we will this week.  The Widow Of Larkspur Inn and Little House in the Big Woods. On my TV..... The Bible Game of Thrones Blog hopping (newly discovered blog).... I don't have one. On the menu for this week.... I need to work on this weeks menu.  The only think I know for sure is Husband's delight because I've been wanting to make it for two weeks or more and haven't done it yet because other things keep coming up. Monday:   Husband's Delight Tuesday:    Wednesday:    Thursday:    Friday:    Saturday:    Sunday:    On my to do list.... Menu plan and grocery list Laun
