Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather outside is:::: Sunny and warm.  I think the high today is supposed to be 87! The wind is blowing super hard today though, so it wouldn't surprise me if it eventually blows something in. On the breakfast plate this morning::::    I'm currently finishing up my breakfast. I had a slice of pumpkin bread, a yogurt, and my coffee. As I look outside my window::: The sun is shining and it really doesn't feel like fall but it is starting to look like it, thanks to the cooler weather we've had off and on over the last week or so. Right now I am:::: Sitting on the couch in the living room finishing up my breakfast. Last weeks episode of Modern Family is playing on my TV and I'm trying to quickly get this blogpost done since I have another post to do and more coffee to make my husband. As I look around the house:::: The house is mostly picked up I just need to get a few things done, like laundry folding and dishes.  The girls are playing w

Happy Homemaker Monday

I'm here!  I'm here! I'm here! I've been away a lot and I'm not perfect, so it may happen again, but I really want to be here. On the weather front::: I believe the temperatures are cooler this week keeping the highs in the 60s and low 70s.  I'm super excited for it to start feeling like fall. On my bedside table::: Kleenex Remote Fake flowers in a vase A couple of books On my TV::: A few vlogs I don't have a ton of time for shows today as I'll be running like a mad woman quite soon today. Thinking and pondering:::: I've really got a lot on my mind... We've been struggling quite a bit with behavior and the kids, specifically Rylie who is 4 and firmly in drama-ville. If you ask her nicely not to do something she either doesn't listen or she starts over reacting and says some really off the wall things like "You don't like me!", "You want me to die!" or her big one already today "Alright, punch

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather..... It's pretty cloudy out today and quite muggy. Thankfully the temp is fairly low, so it's bearable.  Right now I am.... I'm sitting on the deck with the girls, sipping my coffee, mentally preparing myself for the week ahead. Thinking.... I have a giant to do list, and Ben and Syd start school this week. I'm dreading it. On my reading pile.... Dragon Fly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon (The 2nd Outlander book)    On my TV..... Not sure, probably just vlogs today. On the menu for this week.... I have to work on this today.  It's on my to-do list. It's a work in progress. Monday  - Chicken curry, rice, veg, strawberries, garlic naan Tuesday  -  Nachos Wednesday  - Homemade Pizza Thursday  - Brat burgers, grilled potatoes, asparagus Friday  -   Saturday  -  Sunday  - On my to do list today and this week.... Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather::: I think the high today is 91. Tomorrow it's going to be 85 which will be a nice change from the 100s we had last week while we were moving. On my reading pile::: I need to finish Hollow City but I had to put it on hold for the move.  I'm hoping to be back at it soon. On my tv::: I have to re-setup my DVR. We hadn't had TV since a week before the move. Thankfully we were able to watch Game of Thrones and still had Netflix. On the menu for this week::: I desperately need to plan a menu since I haven't cooked anything for the last week.  Monday  -  Going out for my sister-in-law's birthday dinner Tuesday  -  Bangers and mash with roasted veggies Wednesday  - Chicken curry with rice  Thursday  - Taco soup Friday  -   Saturday  -  On my to do list::: Laundry Dishes Sweeping Lots of unpacking Quick run to the grocery store What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating::: Nothing at the moment but I can't wait to jump back i

Almost To The Finish Line

We have 1 1/2 weeks until close.  Packing is in full swing.  I've been working like a crazy lady trying to get as much done as possible.  We've hit a few hiccups along the way, but nothing major or unfixable, and honestly, nothing with the move. Just sick kids and such. We've had extreme allergies, pink eye, and viruses with fevers, headaches and sore throats. Hopefully everyone is finally on the mend, and we can move, and then really get this summer started.  We need park trips, swimming, playdates, zoo trips, and just good fun! Tonight, while Shawn's playing basketball with his friends, I've taken a break from packing and cleaning to make some grilled cheese and tomato soup, and to watch Zootopia with the kids.

Happy Homemaker Monday

I unfortunately haven't participated in quite a while. I've been drowning here and haven't had time for any of my fun stuff, but am attempting to go back to everything I've loved. The weather outside is:::: Rainy and cold today.  High is about 54 degrees and it's supposed to rain all day and tomorrow. On the breakfast plate this morning:::: This morning, I treated myself to my chocolate and hazelnut Chobani flips and a bagel with cream cheese. As I look outside my window::: It is so dark out and rainy. Right now I am:::: Sitting on the couch, taking it easy and watching last night's Call the Midwife. As I look around the house:::: My kitchen is a complete mess, but the dishes are done, so that's a positive.  The couch is covered in clean clothing in need of folding and there is a heaping basket of dirty laundry that needs washing. Rylie is watching My Little Ponies in the playroom, whilst playing with her ponies. Scottie is snuggled up snug as a bug on

Tummy Full of Nerves

Good morning. It's been awhile, and I do promise that I have some posts planned and I truly plan on getting my vlog caught up as well.  I've been overwhelmed and can't seem to find my external hard drive anywhere.  I'm a constant mess and should be the poster child for what happens when you're unorganized. So, this morning, we came downstairs and the kids started going nuts over a butterfly in the window. Since it was still pretty early in the morning, I assumed it was actually a moth and went about making their breakfast. Rylie kept insisting that I come look, so finally I did and was in for a beautiful surprise. Shawn took the big kids to school since he is WatchDOG for the day.  I think it's cool they have the dads sign up to help at the school. I fed them breakfast and packed their backpacks and off they went, walking to school with their dad. I took the dogs out for a quick walk so they could go potty without getting too muddy.  Yup, you read that

The Last Few Weeks

Life has been a crazy whirlwind lately.  A whirlwind consisting of Spring Break, Easter, Shawn's work travel, dance, art classes, school parties, soccer, and Hand Foot and Mouth. We've been house hunting for the past several months, which has been way more stressful than I imagined it would be. There just hadn't been much hitting the market and now that there finally is, they are selling super fast. I'm afraid we're going to have to get really aggressive. A house we loved online went under contract in less than 24 hours of being on the market. Insane right? Shawn had a work trip that just so happened to fall over Spring Break so the kids and I tagged along and made a vacation out of it. So the whole week of Spring Break we were in Denver Colorado. Shawn and the kids had never been to the mountains.  I've been several times, but was still in awe of it's beauty. The kids and I always manage to find ways of keeping entertained on these trips, and this one w
