Work Work Work

This week has been awful for housework.  We were pretty much only at the house to sleep, in between trips to Kansas City and a trip to Topeka from Friday through Monday.  We would drop our stuff at the door and never pick it up again.  The dishes (mostly cups) piled up, occasional laundry was done (but not folded), a layer of dust covered everything, and the house was pretty much an all around mess.  I don't function well in a mess and have been working away little bit by little bit to get everything back in order, but it wasn't going fast enough.  Today I decided that I had to get the house completely clean, because I couldn't live with the mess anymore. I am proud to say that I am done.  The house is clean. Scotts Lawn Care even came out this morning so in no time I suppose our lawn will be looking even better than before.  Truth be told, I didn't have a problem with our lawn.  I was happy with it, and thought it already looked great but our landlord wanted to

Watercolor Wednesday

We used to do this in the past where every Wednesday Ben and I would paint with watercolors.  We haven't done it in so long.  Not since Sydney was Rylie's age.  We started it again today and Sydney got to experience painting with watercolors for the first time.

Shredded BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

I got a delicious craving and idea all in one a week or two ago.  I couldn't wait to make it and when I finally did, YUM! Shredded BBQ Chicken Sandwiches 3 large chicken breast, boneless skinless 1 bottle of BBQ sauce hamburger buns onion, sliced cucumber, peeled and shredded vinegar Put the chicken breast in a crock pot and pour the BBQ sauce over the top. Cook on low for about 8 hours.  Shred chicken and let sit in the sauce for about 20 minutes. Put the cucumber and onions in a mixing bowl and pour vinegar over them.  Chill them for a couple of hours. Serve the onions and cucumbers on top of the BBQ chicken on the bun. Absolutely delicious and so easy.

Susie's Mint Lemonade

Shawn's Aunt Susie made this great mint lemonade and before she moved back to Orcas Island she shared the recipe.  I'm going to share it here because I'm planning on drinking it all summer long.  It's yummy and very refreshing. Susie's Mint Lemonade 1 can frozen lemonade concentrate A little less that a quart of water a handful of mint leaves 2 pitcher tea bags Put the water, mint, and tea bags in a large pitcher.  Set the pitcher in the sun for a few hours to create a mint sun tea. After the tea is done, take out the bags and mint leaves.  Add the frozen lemonade concentrate and stir well.  Chill and serve.

Rylie

Rylie Jane Tiemann Rylie was born on February 14, 2012 and is 3 1/2 months old. She's a super cuddly and laid back baby. She's always happy and smiling. Her favorite toys are her stuffed lamb and her rattle baby doll. She loves her ninny. Her favorite food is "booby milk" like the kids call it. She loves to sit outside and enjoy the sun and sometimes even to get into the pool. She can roll over from her tummy to her back and is now starting to be able to roll from back to tummy.  She scoots around on the floor.  Not army crawling yet, but she will be soon, probably. She's quite the little talker also. I just love my little snuggle buggle.

Sydney

Sydney Ann Tiemann Sydney was born on March 9, 2010 and she's 2 years old. She is so sweet and funny.  If you cry, it will send a happy girl in to a hysterically crying mess.  She's notorious for her favorite knock knock joke. Knock Knock Who's there? Cat poop!  Hahahaha! She has her own sense of style.  She tells you what she wants to wear, how she wants her hair done, and that she has to have make up on.  Yes, somehow I created a monster. Her favorite books are Pinkalicious, Little Bird Biddle Bird and anything Princess. She doesn't like a lot of TV, but she does watch a little: My Little Pony Doc McStuffins As for movies she likes: Lady and the Tramp Tangled Anything Disney Princess LaLaLoopsy Rio She also likes my movies and TV shows as well. Her favorite songs right now are anything by Justin Bieber, Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson, and Stronger by Kelly Clarkson.  I laugh and say that

Ben

Since my blog is about my family and I thought I would let you know a little about us and I'm going to start with Mr. Ben. Benjamin Robert Scott Tiemann Ben's birthday is September 17, 2007, making him 4 years old.
