It's One Of Those Days...

Today is not going the way I planned it to.  I woke up not feeling too hot.  My stomach muscles ache so badly.  They were a little sore yesterday and today they are terrible and only getting worse.  I still have a rather large, light green bruise on my stomach, that is a reminder I'm not fully healed yet and probably should slow down a little. Shawn left for Memphis today.  He'll be back tomorrow but as I'm sure my mother could testify, I don't do to well with people leaving me.  I cried every time my Dad left on a business trip and now I'm the same with my husband.  I don't know how you military families do it.  Shawn's only gone for one or two nights at a time and it's difficult.  I can't imagine him being gone for weeks or months or even longer.  I guess, just like we do for the one or two nights at a time, you do what you have to get by. I was hoping to do fun stuff today like going to the park, crafts, movies, junk food, the whole fun thing.

Sydney's Birthday

Here's a post that is definitely past due.  Sydney's birthday was on the 9th of March.  We had hyped up her birthday as much as we possibly could and boy was she excited when it finally got here. The party started the night before Sydney's birthday when the kids helped Shawn mix the cake batter. Then it was my turn.  I saw on a friend's Facebook page, a picture of this amazingly colorful birthday cake.  I decided to do that for Sydney and it turned out awesome! On the morning of Sydney's birthday she got to open a couple of presents. Shawn worked from home that day so he was able to spend the day with the birthday girl too, even though he still had to work. I decorated the cake. Then, everyone got bathed and we even did Sydney's hair, makeup, and nails. Before leaving town, our friend Torren came over to ride with us and we picked up Shawn's Aunt Susie.  We headed to Kansas City to Shawn's parent's house.  As soon as we got there

The Big Move Among Other Things

The move is done!!! While we still have a little unpacking to do and hanging some art work left to do, I can breath easy.  The stress is OVER!  When we are done with a little more unpacking and maybe putting some of our artwork up, I'll take a couple of pictures to show how amazing the new place is. Now onto a much sadder topic.  Shawn's Grandma isn't doing too well.  She's in the hospital and it just seems that it's all one thing after another after another.  She kept saying "I'm going to get better and get out of here so I can see that baby!"  She hadn't gotten to see Rylie yet and that's pretty sad all in it's own.  She loves my kids and they love her.  They call her GG for Great Grandma.  Their relationship makes me happy, but now we aren't sure what is happening with her health and our fears, of the obvious, have overwhelmed us.  I'm trying to be their for Shawn's mom and the whole family really as much as I can.  Shawn d

Rylie's Birth Story and the Complications After

Warning!  This post may include some information that is TMI.  It's really not too bad, I promise but I do feel the need to post this warning just in case. I feel the need to post this, because if my situation can help at least one person, going through any part of this to feel like they are not alone, then it's worth sharing this personal story and struggle. It's taken me a while to be able to post this.  There are a few reasons for this.  One is that I haven't had easy access to a computer to type this up.  Shawn has a laptop for work and we have a desktop in the bedroom but since we don't like the kids playing in our bedroom much, that computer doesn't get used much. Another reason I haven't posted this is because I'm still dealing with the lasting effects of the complications and new things keep popping up. When I had Ben, I was induced and after about 8 hours of intense labor his heart rate started dropping dangerously low.  They ended up ha

Guess What!!!

I'm so close to being my normal old blogging self!  Next week, life should finally go back to normal.  My new laptop came today!  Finally! I'm such a happy lady. The reason I'm putting off everything going back to normal until next week is because we are in the process of moving.  I'm so excited about this move.  The new house is so wonderful for our family and I think the kids are super stoked for this move as well.  We've spent a lot of time at the new house over the past few days and they've had a really good time playing there.  It helps that their bedroom is the biggest room in the house.  The best part is that this is hopefully the last house we ever have to rent.  I'm praying that in the next couple of years we can finally buy a house.  In other news, Ben and Sydney are adjusting super well to their new sister, Rylie.  They just want to love her up all the time.  We haven't had any problems with jealousy or even really any acting out.  We'

Still here... waiting...,

I'm sure any of you out there with kids knows that when you add a new baby to your family there is a busy adjustment phase.  That's what we have been experiencing.  Between that and my lack of a laptop it has been incredibly difficult to keep up with my blog.  I haven't forgotten.  There is so much I want to talk about including Rylie's birth and the complications I experienced during birth, immediately after, and so far throughout recovery. I feel like it's something that a lot of woman can relate to or may be able to help someone in the future. I'll have to get to all of that another day though.  I'm just doing this quick post to say that I'm still here and we're all doing great. We have a hectic couple of weeks coming up but I expect to be back to blogging really soon as I'm getting my computer situation under control in the next week or so I'm hoping.
