A Little Of This, A Little Of That

I don't want to jinx anything, but I think I'm starting to get in the swing of things already. I did forget to mention, in all the busy-ness we've been going through, that I took Maya to the vet last week.  She's had some problems with her back legs.  I should also mention that she's a big black lab, so arthritis is pretty common.  I guess I just didn't know what causes the arthritis. I guess a long time ago, back as a much younger dog, she tore her ACL in both knees.  I asked how that even happens, and she told me it's common from running or jumping and especially common in labs because they do more jumping that a lot of dog breeds. After those injuries, she got arthritis in the knees.  Because we didn't know at the time, we weren't able to get the problem fixed before arthritis and any surgeries now won't stop or fix the arthritis.  Sometime in the last week or so, she tore what was left of the ACL on her left hind leg and wasn't ...

Exhausted By Friday!

It's Friday!!!  Yay!  I love my kids, but between taking care of them and the house as well as taking Ben to and from school, doctor's appointments, etc, I am beyond worn out!  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I don't know how mothers with full time jobs outside of the home do it.  At the end of every day, I'm completely exhausted so I can't imagine adding 40+ hours at a job on top of my normal stuff.  Ugh, just thinking about it is wearing me out. Thank goodness for my coffee or I don't know how I would manage it all. The kids have all been sick.  It's been pretty much every symptom in the book, but last Friday evening, Sydney started breaking out in hives.  I'm not talking a tiny pin point rash, I'm talking huge welts.  We took her to the doctor only to hear that her body is having an allergic reaction to the virus she has... Weird. I've been working on a hexagon blanket in bed, for the past several nights. I...

Should Be Doing Housework...

But I'd rather blog.  To be fair I've done quite a bit today and now I'm thinking of recipes to post and updates on the stuff I've been up to, which isn't really anything other than what I'm usually doing... Here's what I have to look forward to when I'm done blogging.  Laundry... blech! Also, poor Mr. Unicorn is in need of Dr. Mom. I feel like I spend the majority of my time being Dr. Mom to my Destructo kid's toys.  Ben and Sydney watch this show called Doc McStuffin and she is able to fix all of these toys and somehow my kids think I'm able to do that.  Mr. Unicorns open belly is not a problem, but when pieces come off of Ben's Transformers and he thinks I can just glue them back on, I'm totally lost.  Some toys can be just glued back together but can Transformers? My blanket is coming along nicely and I'm almost done.  My kids have already voiced that they want their own so I went to Walmart and stocked up on beautifu...

Weekend Fun

Every evening I think, I'm going to do a blog post, and then I get sidetracked doing something else like crocheting, fishing, studying, or making an apron.  I've been so incredibly busy, even after the kids go to bed.  This has really been quite a week and weekend. I had to make multiple runs to the grocery store.  The kids like the organic store because they get to push their own carts. Ben loves pushing the cart like mommy does, but not Sydney.  She likes to run quickly down the aisles, knocking into displays and people the whole way.  Also, I may have a problem... I decided I didn't have enough different sizes of mason jars, so I bought a few more cases.  Putting them to use won't be a problem, but my husband is worried about our banking account as this addiction goes from just using them as cooking utensils, to home decor. Thursday evening was the 5th game in the Heat vs.Thunder series thingy.  I don't know.  I'm not crazy about b...
