Happy Homemaker Monday

It's Monday, again!  Darn Mondays keep coming by too quickly. Oh well, time to get moving with this post since I'm already late. The weather..... Toasty warm today.  I believe it's in the 70s today and I love it!   Right now I am.... Looking at my day planner, trying to get organized for Sydney's birthday party this weekend while the girls nap. Thinking.... I'm a little stressed.  Not necessarily just about the party, just about the house work, Shawn's work, everything. On my TV..... Right now I'm binge watching this seasons Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that have been piling up on my DVR and am planning to watch Fuller House later. I'm so in love with it.  It's light and fun.  Just like more shows should be. On the menu for this week.... Monday  -  Jimmy Johns and Picklemans Tuesday  - Frozen Pizzas Wednesday  - Super Nachos Thursday  -Spaghetti  Friday  -  On my to do list.... Dishes Laundry (I have sooo much to fold and put away.  I

Things To Be Thankful For

I had a huge post typed up. Just angry ramblings from a mom who has had a very long and rough week.  When I sat back down to add to it, I thought I am such a whiner! I deleted that entire post, and I think instead I will post about what good things and blessings I have in my life. My and my family's health - Despite the cold that I've had continuously had since Thanksgiving and everyone else has had off and on all season, and the Norovirus we had right after christmas, we are all very healthy in the whole scheme of things. A roof over our heads - Who cares if I feel it isn't big enough or is always a mess.  Having a place to call home and keep us safe from the elements. Food in our bellies - We always have an over abundance of food in our home.  I'm often heard saying "There is no food in our house!" but that really just means, as I'm sure most of you can understand, There is nothing I want to eat here. My kids thankfully have only gone to bed with h

21 Questions Tag!

Good morning!  I love doing tags like this because I feel that the best way to get to know someone is by asking questions and hearing their answers.  Hopefully this lets you know more about me, especially since some of these questions are a little different than the usual. 1// Are you named after anyone?   I know that Elizabeth is a family name, but I don't know that I was named after anyone specifically.  My middle name Jane though is after my grandma (my mom's mom), Mary Jane.  Since my maiden name was Kerr, it was a running joke that if I had been a boy my name would have been Joseph... making me Joe Kerr. Going through my baby book, I found cards from my baby shower addressed to baby Faye... yup, Faye Kerr.  So witty, my family. Thank goodness they didn't do that, and I didn't marry someone with a last name that made my name seem so unfortunate, like my dad's mom, who married into the Kerr family and became Patty Mae Kerr. 2// When was the last time yo

Getting Crafty

I've been getting crafty here.  Maybe it's all the Fixer Upper and Property Brothers the kids and I have been watching.  Living in a rental, there is only so much we can do, but painting picture frames and decorating around the house, I can definitely do.  It's been fun, and I have a few big ones left to go. Here's the finished products of what I've been working on for the past couple of days. The kids have also been working around here too, but for Valentine's day.   And I've been working on my corner to corner blanket any chance I get.

Cranberry Mustard Porkchops

I wasn't able to get a picture of this delicious meal, as it was wolfed down so quickly by everyone, including Scotland, who rarely eats meat. Cranberry Mustard Porkchops 4 pork chops 5 tsp dijon mustard 1/3 cup cranberry juice 1 garlic clove, minced salt and pepper, to taste In a bowl combine the dijon mustard, cranberry juice, and minced garlic.  In a shallow dish, place the pork chops in a single layer, and cover with the mustard mixture, coating all of the pork chops. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least an hour. (I left it in the fridge for about 24 hours.) Place a large skillet over medium-high heat (I used a large cast iron) and when it's hot, add a bit of oil.  Add the pork chops and marinade. Cover the skillet partially and cook for 6-7 minutes.  Turn the pork chops over and cook for another 5-10 minutes depending on how thick your pork chops are, uncovered, until cooked through. Season to taste with salt and pepper. (It's in the recipe but I did

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello!  Hope this afternoon finds everyone well.  I've been so busy today with the big kids' dentist appointments, and playing and crafting with the little girls. The weather..... We had amazing weather all weekend and now it's so cold.  It's about 34 degrees right now and the windchill is near 0. This morning, it was snowing like crazy, but it didn't amount to anything.  I think it's supposed to only get colder by the end of the week. Right now I am.... Sitting on the couch cuddled up with Scotland and Rylie, watching Frozen for the bajillionth time. Thinking.... About everything that I have to get done this tonight, and then this week to get ready for the kids valentine's parties and then Rylie's birthday party on Saturday at Chuck E Cheese. On my TV..... Right now, Frozen, but later and this week, Fixer Upper and Property Brothers and who knows what else. On the menu for this week.... I'm working on my grocery delivery right now

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday! Can you believe it is February already? Time is truly flying by. The Weather::: It's about 40 degrees right now.  It's supposed to get quite rainy later. Right now I am:  Sitting on the couch with all 3 girls sitting around me on their iPads and I'm definitely getting a case of sensory overload. (Sydney is home sick today.  She seems fine now but had a fever all day yesterday and all night last night.) Thinking::: I seem to have a lot on my mind, mostly with this house buying stress.  There is just no inventory here right now, and I'm hoping this start to hit the market because I really can't wait to buy and have our own home. Looking forward to::: Naptime! LOL, no honestly just getting things done.  We seemed to have gotten most of the house back in order this weekend so just maybe some organizing and getting rid of things. On my reading pile::: Still working on Red Queen. On my tv::: I've been watching lots of HGTV lately.   Things that m
