Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather outside is::::
Today, the high is about 70 and then we have a cold front moving through saying it's going to get into the 30s and possibly little bits of snow.

On the breakfast plate this morning::::
Coffee and a handful of cheez-its.

As I look outside my window:::
It's a beautiful day out there right now.  And, my tree in my front yard finally changed.

Right now I am::::
Sitting on the couch, typing up this post and nursing sweet little Scotland.

As I look around the house::::
I have some picking up to do, and a little laundry laying in the hallway, begging to be washed.  Scotland is eating happily, and Sydney and Rylie are watching Marley and Me for the 2nd time this morning in the playroom.  The first time was so devastating to them that they had to see Marley alive again.

On today's to do list::::
Laundry.....I have a load or two of laundry to take care of.
Cleaning.....There are some dishes to do, some minor picking up, and cleaning the floors.
Dance.... Sydney has dance this evening clear across town.

I really want to get started on this painting project.  It's been sitting here taunting me.

New recipe I tried or want to try this week::::
I'm looking for a couple of new fun desserts.  I'm a sucker for desserts lately.

Favorite photo from the camera::::
I actually have two pictures, and they are very similar but one is the big kids with Shawn and the other is the big kids with me.  This was at the eXtreme Bugs exhibit we went to this weekend.

The original British version of Gracepoint called Broadchurch is the best.

I have to agree with Theresa, Broadchurch was fantastic, not too sure about Gracepoint.

Love the pictures, you have the sweetest family.

Oh and as to the Doctor Who finale, ugh, we are so irritated, and I was heartbroken with Pink....why???? So unfair.

Anyway lol Hope you have a fantastic week :)

Potato Soup

During Lent this last spring, I needed a meat free dinner to feed my sister-in-law and her family. Usually my potato soup has lots of bacon and bacon grease in it. I found this recipe here .This one is meatless, but it is important to add that it is NOT dairy free. There are adjustments you can do to make it dairy free though. It’s quick and was really well liked.  Potato Soup 6-8 cups russet potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 yellow onion, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups vegetable stock 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 1/2 cup sour cream or cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Pinch red pepper flakes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil In a large pot over medium heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once hot and melted together add the onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the potatoes and minced garlic to the pot and continue to sauté all of the ingredients for about 5 minutes. Add vegetable stock and increase th
