Happy Homemaker Monday

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was busy but fantastic! We had dance class, an art show, 2 ballets, 2 soccer games, a baseball practice, 2 birthday parties, a trip to the farmers market, a trip to Costco, a big clean of the house, a much needed mowing the lawn, and had a great big family dinner that we hosted and I cooked for.

Looking forward to:::

Bed time! I'm so tired and worn out. I truly feel like I'm burning the candle at both ends. I think that's just what life is like with 4 kids that all are in activities. I'm trying to enjoy everything though. I can sleep when my babies are grown.

Looking around the house:::
Scottie has been cuddling one of the cats in the living room all morning while watching Paw Patrol.  Dakota doesn't want to come out of her kennel, probably because she's exhausted from barking all night long. Shawn's upstairs working. It's non stop calls from 10-2 today. I need a small break in calls so I can go make the bed though. It bothers me knowing my bed is a mess up there. I'm burning this Banana Bundt cake candle in the kitchen, where I'm sitting at the counter and it smells sooooo good!

From the camera:::
We went to see a local performance of Giselle this weekend. Sydney and Rylie begged to go, so we bought tickets for whole family. Rylie and Scottie got to see the helpers from their dance class performing so beautifully. The whole family loved it, surprisingly even Ben, who sat on the edge of his seat completely enthralled.

What I'm wearing today:::
I'm wearing a new pair of jeggings, a mustard yellow blouse with billowy sleeves, and my roxy shoes

One of my simple pleasures:::
Going to the farmer's market. I just love it! All the pretty fresh produce, the smells from the food trucks and baked good sellers, the sounds of families and music playing from street performers, and all of the adorable dogs!

Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::
Prayers to my cousin who lost his wife last night.

You've had quite a busy weekend! I am an empty-nester now and I can say I do not regret all the time spent with the kids when they were little.
Beautiful pictures of your girls.

Have a great week

Blogmas 2014 - Day 8 What Is On Your Wish List This Year

Oh my goodness, I'm really pretty easy to buy for.  I have pretty much everything a girl could want.  I mean of course I have a few things but I'm not really counting on anything because I already got a huge gift of the new car. I really love scarves, especially infinity scarves right now.  I'm beyond obsessed.   Fun gadgets, appliances, etc for my kitchen are always a win for me as well as cookbooks and decorations.  I'm so into all of it, and it's the best go to gift idea for me. A nice pair of rain boots or wellies.  I just bought some for all of my kids for Christmas, and I've been dying for my own for years. Vera Bradley!  I'm so in love with Vera Bradley.  I'd like a bigger purse, as well as a library tote bag. And honestly I've not asked for any of even these things because what I want more than anything else in the world, is our own house.  I want to buy a house for my kids to grow up in an...

Happy Homemaker Monday

   As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...
